BREAKING NEWS!!!!

*IVAN CLEARY ON THE BUS TO PENRITH*

The Penrith Panthers are set to announce the signing of Ivan Cleary as head coach of the Penrith Panthers from 2019 and beyond for the next 4 years. A transfer fee will be paid to compensate the Tigers.

This now results in the Wests Tigers going after former South Sydney Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire for 2019 and beyond.

Thoughts?. People criticised me when I first posted it and now it's a reality, thanks 👍.

It better be more than just a transfer fee due to the damage caused. If they let Penrith off too quickly and lightly I will be more filthy than losing Cleary.

Have to take em to the cleaners. Otherwise not good enough in my view.

I don't want to get too dramatic about this, but wasn't this the sort of behaviour that led to Banking Royal Commission? People start acting with impunity as regards the law (you can't encourage someone to break their contract) and it's a downhill spiral….

Six Tackles with Gus.

Very interesting to listen too

https://omny.fm/shows/six-tackles-with-gus/six-tackles-with-gus-round-22

What a waste of 30 minutes of my life. Gould playing the nice guy, I had nothing to do with, my hands are clean.

Gus your the face of Penrith, and what your club has done stinks…it’s pretty simple. The only thing I concede is, Ivan seems to be the one pushing to break his contract. So I guess any real anger should be directed towards Mr integrity

As exposed in the banking royal commission, it's the unethical behavior rather than the necessarily illegal behaviour. The NRL should not be silent on this.

Nothing can be confirmed..if the board hasn't met then decisions are still to be made

The only decision tonight's board will make is whether to agree to the compensation on offer…Ivan's gone ....

Throw in some top tier trades and make it immediate. Not our problem if they lose players from this week onwards. Could care less if the panthers bomb out hard, Panthers fans can blame their management.

If Penrith are refused Cleary. They will need an interim coach for two years. Won’t get a high profile coach now their long term plan is clear. In two years you would imagine they would loose a few players.

Should have kept this more discrete.

Thought Ivan was a good fit for the Tigers. As a player he was a mercenary if I remember correctly. Played with Manly , Norths, Easts and the Warriors(please correct me if I'm wrong). Always followed the dollar. Nothing wrong with that but was never loyal to a club. Its laughable that if he wants out due to compassionate grounds. Always put the family first but he has a job that provides more than most us will ever get so his family is not suffering. What example does it set when you're making $100,000s and you walk out for more? Does he want to spend 24/7 with his son?
I have had 2 of my sons do apprenticeships with me and it can create problems with the other guys. I love my boys but its great to see when they make it on their own and give them space.
IMO it smacks of greed. He has a good paying job but can't resist the extra dollar if what has been reported is true.
It wont happen but maybe he should say "I've been offered more bucks at the Panthers so thanks for lining my pockets for the last couple of years , see you later" instead of the compassionate grounds exit excuse. If the wife objects mention that Wests have been keeping her in the manner she has been accustomed to. If the son objects mention that IC has a contract and its nice to keep your word while making heaps of bucks. Not really a hardship to stay
Will be sad to see him go but we need a coach who's not using the tigers for a leg up to other coaching jobs.
Cheers my rant is over and I can't believe how long it takes me to type this!

Whatever compensation is received, it should be disclosed by the club. Members and supporters have a right to know. These are pretty extraordinary circumstances.

I believe it'll be made public, not by the club officially but via one of the jurnos pascoe and go are connected with.

Ivan Cleary addressed the Wests Tigers players on Wednesday morning for the first time since news broke of Penrith's plan to lure him back.

NRL.com understands he couldn't guarantee where he would be next season. He couldn't lie to his players, admitting he had a tough family decision to make.

The Tigers have called an extraordinary board meeting on Wednesday night to discuss the future of the organisation, however as it stands Cleary has not yet asked for a release and is not expected to front the board.

Also fox sports are reporting that Nathan has just resigned till 2024 with Penrith. If this IS the case were screwed.

Why are we screwed?

Ivan’s a crap coach !

Hope you're right
