Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

You wonder if Ivan played along, said what he had to say to the Panthers, came back to Pascoe, spilled the beans and now they are in cahoots to completely screw over the club who screwed him over, with the ultimate goal to get Nathan here.

I need to change my pants

Interesting to hear Griffin say Penrith were in bad shape when he arrived, physically and mentally. Also mentioned their junior development programs were sub par. All on Ivan's watch?? Maybe Ivan isn't the man?

If that does happen the Germans will have to make up a new word because Schadenfraude won't be adequate.

Yeah. I picked up on that too. But then said at the end that Cleary would be a good appointment for Penrith. Seemed contradictory.

Lucky for Ivan & Penrith the Tigers didn't show up & lost the "must win" games against the Dogs & the Gold Coast.
He would have been in a real stew if we made the finals.

p.s how stupid does Gould think the public is?
Also, how desperate is he to try & pull off such a slimy act?

It was refreshing to hear him speak instead of the grunts you see at press conferences.

I found what he had to say really interesting and it gave me a whole new level of respect for his coaching, and his approach toward developing the juniors into FG players.
Its an area where we have really dropped the ball in recent times in my view, and when you look at the wealth of talent that have come through the ranks under his leadership its hard to deny what a great job he has done.

For any one who wants to learn more about what he is about its well worth watching.

Reckons his gone on the same tweet. I'd say that, that is his opinion and we're keeping our cards close, Marina is just paying journos courtesy calls, all will be revealed soon…

Griffin appeared a nice, likeable guy however the interview questions were not hard hitting, more like a chat over cordial and biscuits at the local catholic club. Griffin appeared to be holding back, maybe the word ‘defamation’ was on his mind.

After hearing what he had to say it almost felt like Gould got him down to implement Brisbane's play book on player development and get rid of him once it was done. Gould has referred to his tour of Brisbane a couple of times as the catalyst for employing Griffin. Also mentioned Gould advised him to hold tight after being punted from Brisbane, and not consider offer from Wests and Newcastle as he had something on the horizon….. Ivan's job.

Not sure Griffin is an out and out coach but could be a great consultant to look over our junior development programs....

Interesting to hear Marino Go speak out on the matter. She has definitely tried to play down the prospect of Cleary leaving.

However each time she dismissed a rumor she started the sentence with 'as far as i know'.

I would have thought it was her job to know the ins and outs of what has transpired. That didnt inspire a heap of confidence, knowing she could be unaware of the details and just talking out of her backside.

I'll say it again, if we hold off releasing Cleary he wont be going to the Panthers in 2021\. It puts us in the box seat to sign him and his son long term.

Watched the Go interview and listened to the Gould interview.

The difference in actual intelligence and emotional intelligence between the two is incredible.

Gould's only agenda was to make himself look good. As usual it was all about Gus.

Go's interview was incredibly shrewd. Comments like "Ivan is honourable and a man of integrity" and "Ivan told me on Monday he loves the club". These comments that come across as praise were actually designed to make it very hard for IC to now request a release. He will come across as a complete liar.

In contrast, Gould painted the whole fiasco as IC's fault. He even stated that they sacked Griffin because IC said he was going to discuss the approach from the Panthers with the Tigers. That is, that IC was the cause of Griffin's demise. I C would hate that.

If I was in IC's shoes, there is no way I would go to the Panthers after hearing Gus throw him under the bus in that interview.

IC could still leave but I know who played the better game tonight.

It's not good

But let's not blame this on the tiger's

Totally out of our hands

They need our support right now

That's right. I'm going to Canberra this weekend to support the club and cheer our players on!

Wow.

C'mon Nucky they could probably do with your support too!!

Nucky is very jaded not sure if turn on the idiot box.

I thought ivan was one of the last good guys

Unlike most on here ,I will wait until there is solid proof that Ivan is leaving and asks for a release…..I don't like to jump on the rumour mill and start bagging out the coach who I don't even converse with,so I wouldn't know the facts...

I have grown to accept that anything is possible within the ranks of the WTs since their inception, however, this is the first time we have had a stable board and very capable CEO,to battle out our fights in a very professional manner...

I will remain positive, but ,as always understand that the WTs can always bugger up the Lords prayer, let alone contracts, whether players or coaches....
