If I was in IC's shoes, there is no way I would go to the Panthers after hearing Gus throw him under the bus in that interview.

IC could still leave but I know who played the better game tonight.

Yeah. I picked up on that too. But then said at the end that Cleary would be a good appointment for Penrith. Seemed contradictory.

It was refreshing to hear him speak instead of the grunts you see at press conferences.

I found what he had to say really interesting and it gave me a whole new level of respect for his coaching, and his approach toward developing the juniors into FG players.
Its an area where we have really dropped the ball in recent times in my view, and when you look at the wealth of talent that have come through the ranks under his leadership its hard to deny what a great job he has done.

For any one who wants to learn more about what he is about its well worth watching.

After hearing what he had to say it almost felt like Gould got him down to implement Brisbane's play book on player development and get rid of him once it was done. Gould has referred to his tour of Brisbane a couple of times as the catalyst for employing Griffin. Also mentioned Gould advised him to hold tight after being punted from Brisbane, and not consider offer from Wests and Newcastle as he had something on the horizon….. Ivan's job.

Not sure Griffin is an out and out coach but could be a great consultant to look over our junior development programs....

Yes - apparently were not the right club for Griffin similar to what he said about us when we were about to employ Ivan.
Love to employ Griffin in that type of role its exactly what we need, right now and he is available.

Agree. Griffin came off extremely honourable. He was deliberate and genuine. Never disparaging. Professional.
Seems he would be a fantastic GM or Director of football.
 
This was an orchestrated move by Gould to sack Griffin and not let him have the chance of a finals charge knowing he had not lost the dresssing room but they had a falling out.
Cleary was the master stroke to keep face and retain Nathan.

He knows Tigers would never release him and has stated Ivan won’t seek a release. So you need to ask why slander the reputation of the Panthers, yourself and the Cleary Family.

Did Ivan have a moment of weakness or have Penrith taken a comment made without consideration from Cleary to move to knife the Tigers.

Either way Tigersshould just say no and not talk to the Panthers at all. Wouldn’t give them the time of day.

Did not see see Marina’s interview, but sadly wasted 30 minutes of my life listening to Gus. It was as always all about Gus, my hands are clean,it was not me, the board wanted Hook out but I wanted to wait till the end of the season, I had no dealings with Ivan it was the head of the board, it was news to me, the important thing is I know I made the right call when I sacked Ivan.

The guy was in damage control from the first minute and all he was trying to do is seperate himself from this disaster, he could not give a stuff about Penrith,Cleary or the West’s Tigers…it’s all about Gould
 
There are so many holes in Gus podcast it is not funny.

He kept saying the media will blame me for this fiasco, but thats because it is sexy. Then he qualifies himself by saying he is the boss of Penrith!! Then listening to Griffen it seems he has his fingers and toes in every single decision - its his club !! SO rightly he is copping a lot of flak !! Own it for once !

So either Gould is lying through his teeth about having no idea about Ivan. Or he he is headless chook if in fact they are after a coach that he has no idea about for next season. Isn't he the big boss?

Either way I think for once he might have totally misjudged this situation. Gould reputation is coping a hammering right now. If he gets Ivan when they will be under the pump for their lack of integrity. If he misses out on him it will look like a complete circus in sacking Griffin.

He is the one not smelling too good right now.
 
So…..........it seems like a lot of stuff is media beat up and a lot of miscommunication going on.

Penrith looking like idiots though, they must be panicking at the thought of losing Nathan.

This is so true and i hope everyone remembers this. The club has done an outstanding job to recover from some very bad years. They deserve nothing but credit. This was out of our hands and is pretty much the tedesco incident all over again with a good young player picking a better team with better facilities and sponsorship ie Nathan.

I sent an email to Pascoe this morning congratulating him on the job the club were doing and how they have handled this current situation. More of us should do this - he appreciated my words of encouragement and I’m sure he’d appreciate knowing he has our support

He is such a liar. 'Ivan is going to talk to justin about his future at the tigers after his meeting at the panthers, so we better sack Anthony because the media are going to crazy over this'.

The only reason the media even got onto this was because Gus sacked Griffin.
