Ivan Cleary - THREAD..

Done and dusted. Good result

Have to say it’s refreshing to see no media leaks from us and minimal public discussion/noise/comment from the club. I’d say that worked in our favour here.

Cleary said he didnt know Griffin would be sacked, never received an offer from Penrith, loves it here and is seeing out his contract.
Then no questions on statement

And there it is.

Well he seemed very emotional and has obviously suffered this week.

I was really uptight about this and voiced that. I have learnt out of this to not believe anything the media say. Cleary has probably gone through a lot of unnecessary pain. Sad.

Now let’s kill the Raiders!!

Hopefully he learns a lesson from this

There is no lesson for him here mate!
Lessons for Panthers and NRL administration.

Why not say this Tuesday. Feel the anger and emotion from all parties has been a waste of time. I understand and acknowledge he has been hurt by this and don't feel good about that, I also feel he could have hosed it down.

A possible explanation is that he had a decision to make, about an option he shouldn't have been considering. Will forgive and move on, but things like this make me hate the game.

If true, all this confirms is that EVERY SINGLE MEDIA JOURNO knows no more than you and I sitting in our kitchen having a cup of tea.

All the so called 'my sources tell me' etc etc is complete crap and just clickbait.

100% right

Kent emphatically stated that Ivan was Gone. $1.01 was the betting price he mentioned. These blokes are just throwing darts

Miss information huh…

Was a good press conference..

Hooper started this whole drama which is unsurprising using his nameless sources but he will walk away with a fatter wallet and no mud on his face.

The NRL media machine.
Gotta play the game.

He was following instructions from his employer. Meetings with Pasco and Go would have put the media management strategy of the situation (whatever that may have been) in place.
Anything else he would be in breach of of that and ultimately his contractual obligations.

Now that Ivan has spoken, I want two things; someone from Penrith’s head mounted on a spike and clowns like Paul Kent who have never spoken a factual word about the Tigers to recant the spin they fed the news cycle.

So he wants to coach his son. Does that mean he’ll be chasing him for 2020?

I just posted that my new mantra would be not to believe media speculation so until I hear it officially I won’t accept it BUT if Gould has resigned for 5 years with panthers then I think we are a huge chance of getting Nathan Cleary because I can’t see Ivan having anything to do with Puss Gould

Instead of wasting time and asking him about his own future, You now ask him if intends to chase his son in 2020\. It’s a non direct way of his asking him what his plans are beyond 2020.

Agreed.Phil Gould has taken a hit over all this however.

Hooper is waste of space. Utter moron.
He just has to open his mouth and you know it’s bullshit you will hear.

We get first go as he is off contract first but Penrith might have a deal already in place, we will have to wait til november to find out.
We will find out how good Gus's deal is if he wants to come here, Gus is obviously sure he doesn't want to come
