Official did not say that there was compensation.

A senior person at Tiges didn’t seem to know so perhaps Cleary is still lying to them.

Why would I post this?
I debated with myself. My conclusion, I’m confident that now you all know you will demand our club stand up and fight (like they promised)

The risk here is our beloved club tries to spin a story about moving on… blah blah a legal process will be expensive and a distraction etc

I have had lawyers give me that advice too. My position is we fight. Setup a go-fund me page. I will put the first $1000 in.

1\. We move on
2\. We fight
3\. We fight and I would put money in

Go the mighty Tigers! We will get through this. Let’s send a clear message to the Tiges of what we want.

If that's true, then Tigers must know. Ivan can't leave without Tigers permission, with some sort of deal done. Whoever the "senior person" is at Tiges, can't be that senior.

So we go to Wests Tigers HQ, pitchforks in hand, and demand that the club ensures that Ivan stays.
The club hierarchy says, Hmmm? What's that you say? Ivan has said he will see out his contract with us, go away.
So we put our collective tails between our legs and shuffle off.
Next thing Ivan says, See Yez, I'm off to Penrith.
How do you propose we stop this process (if it is actually happening)when, as we must assume, Wests Tigers management must be aware of and be a part of it's progress?

I don't think it's true at all. IC would have no credibility left at all. What player would play for him when they know his word is meaningless.

If this is a Gus crony trying to throw us off the rails, don't bother. We aren't playing finals, we blew our chance, go and hassle some other team.

I still think Panthers are scared of losing Nathan, though really, I couldn't care less about him. We need forwards and a centre.

Been Saying this for weeks now that he is Gone… Ever sense the press conference and he would NOT take questions I thought this. I would only hope the club is looking at a top coach and not leaving it until its too late. I don't want him if he doesn't want to be here. He has said he will honour the contract he has for the next two years. How does that mean he is gone?

POM has already stated we have (and I have heard it from another source close to the club) that we/will - have signed three good players for next year (obviously they are still under contract / in the finals so cannot be disclosed at this point.

Instead of everyone trying to second guess what has/will happen - maybe we should all relax and wait until the club make the announcement of which players we have, coach has already been decided.

If we can get them over the line. I haven't seen anything since where he said it's a done deal?

My guess is the club was negotiating based on Ivan being there. I say this as I have also heard that a Penrith player was late stages in negotiating to join us but “will now join up with Cleary at Penrith” (rather than Tigers). Not Nath.

Ivan is still sooking and looking agitated like a caged lion … I’m sure Nathan has already resigned at Panthers but who cares - not I.

Oh man, I can't wait for next season to start. At least by then we will know if IC is still our coach and all these constant rumours can settle down. I believe it is rubbish simply because I can't envision a circumstance that would support it.
To me, for this to occur, either Ivan always intended to leave and has mislead WT management, or WT management is complicit in his departure and has come to (legal and financial) terms with Penrith management.
In the case that Ivan has mislead WT management, both he and Penrith management can expect to be sued if he departs before the end of his contract.
In the case that WT management is complicit, they can kiss fan support and memberships goodbye after stating that they would fight tooth and nail to keep him here.
Just my take on the rumour.

Anything is possible in the NRL, but at present we have to take Cleary’s word that he is here for another two years. Anything else is pure speculation at this stage. Although nothing would surprise.
