?? are you suggesting Jennings is a like for like swap? ROFL ?

Who do you suggest is a "like for like" replacement for JAC? Jennings isa winger, thats a start.

It is worth noting that the Cleary did not rate DWZ and the group also did not like him. Barret is coming straight from Penrith, so he would be well up to speed on the reasons Penrith wanted him gone.

One thing other clubs do MUCH better than us with players they want to move on is they basically tell them "you will be in state cup for years". Look at Ricky Stuart, who has openly said he threatens players with years of meaningless footy.

We really should be a lot of tougher...we have told so many players they are not wanted the past couple of years, but they all stay in the squad.

So, Dogs will likely be ruthless with this. I can't see them getting JAC unless DWZ is offloaded. Let's hope no one bites.

Jason Taylor got hammered for that when he suggested Robbie would be in reggies because he was trying to get rid of him. So its ok if its a player who everyone dislikes but if its a player who is cuasing problems and is on big money but the fans like him then we will sack the coach.

Wasn't Farah the Origin hooker at the time? It's a bit rough to be dropped in that scenario.

Farah was indeed origin hooker, but that didnt entitle him to run the entire club and in doing so shaft yet another coach who wants to do things their way
Exactly the same goes for self entitled Benji.Just doesnt get it.
The results on the board of players running the club for the past decade or so have been less than stellar,so lets try allowing a premiership winning coach to run the joint
...and Benji can walk on his own eggshells in the transit lounge.

Seyfarth should buy a lottery ticket.

Thought Seyfarth and Clark were very much the same type of player. Would have hung onto Clark before Seyfarth.

Clark was a better defender, Seyfarth misses/falls off tackles regularly. Both have no impact in attack.

This is why I felt we should have hung onto Clark. They were both bog average in attack but Clark was a better defender and could play longer minutes.

I would have kept Eisenhuth.

Well yes, I'd have kept Matt over both those guys. But if I am picking one over the other, it would have always been Clark. Maybe Madge sees a bigger ceiling in Seyfarth due to his size. Size means nothing without mongrel to go with it.

hopefully seyfarth can aquire some mongrel in the offseason

brooks can mentor him on how to throw a punch

Checked ebay, mongrel, pace and talent have all sold out.

POM confirmed today that he has agreed to terms of contract starting 2022 or 2021 subject to Melbourne release.
So what are you nervous nellies on about?

With all due respect to the Pom, it’s pretty hard to trust someone on a forum that we’ve never met.

No we have a fair way to go to recover from that mistake.

Then cleary had his go and destroyed the salary cap and roster even more.

Its a long slow recovery.

Bulldogs reportedly in box seat to sign Storm grand final winger Josh Addo-Carr

The Bulldogs have become favourites to sign Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr, a new report says.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Addo-Carr was a big chance to play for a grand final opponent next season, with Panthers assistant Trent Barrett taking over as Canterbury head coach. Addo-Carr, the NSW Origin and Australian Test winger, is a Barrett fan.

Addo-Carr is seeking a move back to Sydney for family reasons. The Rabbitohs and Wests Tigers are also in the mix for his signature.

It has been reported that he wants to play fullback; it is unclear what position he may play at the Bulldogs. The struggling club has already signed Canberra winger Nick Cotric for next season, though he could play in the centres.

The Storm granted Addo-Carr a release on the proviso that it gained a comparable player in return from his new club. That sticking point will need to be worked out in the ongoing negotiations.

Addo-Carr is leaving all negotiations to his management, aiming to enjoy a winning farewell with Melbourne in the looming grand final.

"I made the decision to put all that stuff behind me and really focus on the finals series," he told The Sunday Footy Show.

"My manager and the Melbourne Storm are really working their backsides off to get this deal

What this report says to me (particularly with the Pom news) is that the Tigers have made the right offer, sounds about right. If the Dogs drop out of the clouds and poach him it is ONLY about $$$ and the Tigers are right and doing the right thing letting it go.

Wont stop a lot of hand wringing here about how terrible we are because we let another one slip, but at the end of the day, to me , the club is going about this in a professional manner.

Professional gets you nowhere in this league.

First: Panthers - numerous sex and Covid scandals last 18 months, poached a coach under contract
Second: Storm - systematic cheats, stripped of titles
Third: Eels -systematic cheats, stripped of premiership points
Fourth: Roosters - nothing to see there

Can we try unprofessional?

That is valid comment.

Those clubs would call it being hard nosed and getting what you want.

Not sure I would like to be like them though. Panthers showed no morals at all. "Would you be interested in coming back sooner..." to a man under contract. Clearly suggesting he breach his contract.

The NBA and NFL have massive fines for this stuff, but the NRL barely even bothers to pretend it cares. In many ways, we are the 'nice' club who tries to do things correctly...

Not sure what the moral of the story is...

Moral is fans will get sick of watching the same cheats in the top 4 year after year, Flow on effect, juniors will stop playing and the game will be insignificant in 10-15 years. PVL has some big calls to make.

I think people are putting a bit too much pressure on the Pom's post...he said the deal is done "IF" JAC can get a release.

If the Dogs etc up the stakes and get that release, there is not much we can do...and the Pom will not have been wrong / JAC won't be the bad guy.
