With all the speculation about JAC could it be that Wests release Talau to the Storm for 2021 to get JAC then he returns to us in 2022?
That would also free up a space for Gebbie on a 1 yr deal.

Wouldn't Gebbie replace Talau in 2021?

Is Gebbie even FG material?

Yes, very quick and strong. Think of Olam but much quicker and with a good step off the left.

Fair enough, we need some speed but I'm not sure the club is interested in letting Talau go anywhere.

To get JAC it may be necessary. Kepaoa looks to me to be a great centre.

Talau has to agree to it...

I think if we are to get him we are going to need to make a move like this.

What does JAC get if he goes to Souths? Is he going to displace Latrell at fullback? Will he displace Johnston on the left wing?

Yes they're playing roster is stronger than ours right now but if he's smart there's more upside at WT in terms of where he can play, what he can earn and the junior talent we've got coming through over the next couple of years.

Mate, I agree but I believe he wants to play with his mates. I think it really is that simple.

He didn't want to play with his mates when he left Wests Tigers. He didn't know anybody in Melbourne.

If you haven’t made your debut by 25, you aren’t that good.

Ha! Olam debuted for storm at 24/25 and he's pretty good I think!!!

The path from PNG isn't a straight as it is for Aussie kids

Cody Walker and Bryan Fletcher are the outliers but yes most players who havent cracked it wont!

Fang u are a pessimist mate , do you honestly think we would announce any signings from the GF teams before the GF ? You need to chill mate JAC is coming soon

We did get the captain of one of the GF sides, announced a few week ago.

I have my doubts. Just quick.

That's gold to us.

Exactly. PNG people are good souls and live for their rugby league.

Many don't understand the awesome beauty, danger and remoteness of PNG.

Heard that about JAC and a Storm fullback also.

He gets to play with his besties..

And free range on the shoot at Nana Glen..

For every one of those, there would be 10-20 who don’t amount to much. Percentages aren’t good at that age.

The Kumuls coach on the Chasing Kangaroos podcast said that PNG players don't get professional coaching at juniors and just want to run hard at the opposition.

He said that when Olam arrived at Storm he was told that he had to forget everythibg he did and relearn all his footy skills. Plus learning a new language, it's a huge effort to make it to where he is.

If you ever get a chance, listen to Justin Olam on Sandor Earl's podcast, he talked about what it was like growing up on his village. The jobs he had to do as a 5 year old then walk across a mountain to school and back - it's incredible......

Yeah no idea, I’d be taking any and all tidbits with a pinch of salt until the club announces anything. Just thought I would post the screenshot from the tweet @vlad posted.

Twitter guy reading the play said 101 percent us

Yeah just saw that. He said deal was done weeks ago. Performance based contract.

R Smith from bulldogs to go to storm as he's not in Barretts plans. No doubt freeing up cash for Burton and co.

Reading the play gets good mail

That would be a very good deal if we could swing it. I’d hate to lose Talau completely though, I know people on here are bagging him, but I reckon he will be the goods in coming years. If we lose him completely he will be like another JAC that will come back to bite us, imo.
