I reckon within next week we will know as Freddy has openly criticised ongoing contract negotiations before origin

Yeah just saw that. He said deal was done weeks ago. Performance based contract.
R Smith from bulldogs to go to storm as he's not in Barretts plans. No doubt freeing up cash for Burton and co.
Reading the play gets good mail

Cody Walker and Bryan Fletcher are the outliers but yes most players who havent cracked it wont!
For every one of those, there would be 10-20 who don’t amount to much. Percentages aren’t good at that age.

I believe that having Madge and Hartigan now working that area that we will see improvement in our ability to target the players we need.
Let’s just say we all hope you’re right.
Mate, I hope I am right. I find it hard to be critical about the players we miss as some of that is out of our control. What is not out of our control is the players we sign and that is what I will use to judge the people in those roles.
I don’t agree it is totally out of our control. I think it’s because we are seen as weak and inferior. Then again, maybe it’s all just corrupt and cannot be fixed. If that’s the case, come out and tell us that Pascoe.
I said some of it is out of our control, not all of it. There is nothing we can do if a player doesn't sign here because his priority is to play with his mates. How do you change that? Yes be a stronger club but there are just some things you can't change.
I will judge people on what is in their control, if we miss JAC, I can understand how that could happen, if we signed Moylan then there is noway that can be explained away.

Totally agree. We ultimately don’t have control over who chooses to sign here, but we do have control over who we sign.
As disappointing and a blight on the apparent salary cap it would be, I don’t blame the club if JAC decides to join his mob at Souths. What I would blame them for is if the panicked response is to sign some broken down old hack like Moylan.
To a certain extent I’ve already written off 2021, JAC or not.
We have to get 2022 right. That will determine the direction of this club for the next decade.

That would also free up a space for Gebbie on a 1 yr deal.
Wouldn't Gebbie replace Talau in 2021?
Is Gebbie even FG material?
I have my doubts. Just quick.

Call me naive but every year I live in hope that we pull off the impossible and achieve the ultimate goal. That's the stupidity of being a loyal fan. The realist in me however knows we're far from this and only makes me want it more.
Looking back, 2010 and 11 was our last premiership window and we really should have won at least one.
