I’ve been told the deal is dead in the water. He will go back to the Storm and sign with the Rabbits in 2021.

No one to blame but management for that one. If we can’t land a big signing in 2022 we are screwed

Please explain how you come to that conclusion, with actual verifiable information.

He gave us a heads of agreement apparently, ready to come here all we needed to do was make a deal with Melbourne. We refuse, he stays at Melbourne or goes somewhere else and he never plays for us. It’s us that refused to play ball

How do you know?

Also if they ask for one our best performed players do you let them go? JAC signs here and a year later when Souths have the money he agitates to get out.

There's a few permutations of how this could play out. If we have made a sensible offer and he's going elsewhere good luck to him. Call me old fashioned but I want players here who want to be here.

That doesn't fit his narrative

We just did what the Storm and Roosters have been doing for years. Held our ground.

We offerer him the fullback spot. If hes not interested than so be it.

He was interested?!!!!! We couldn’t get the deal done? Roosters are ruthless they would’ve given Melbourne a rookie if they wanted JAC. Look what they did to Pearce and Flanagan

Ok so which Sydney club is sending a "like for like" player to Melbourne for 2021? Which Sydney club "got it done"?

I can’t believe people are so fine with missing out on good players. Clearly a decade of failure has become the norm and people are used to it

I for one don’t like it when we miss signings

This whole narrative of him not wanting to be here is rubbish as well he gave us a heads of agreement, it was Melbourne not releasing him. He literally couldn’t sign a contract because we couldn’t do a deal with Melbourne is what the reports are saying

Who else has room for him? Only bulldogs and it sounds like they are actually trying to offer players for him. Most clubs dont need fullbacks as bad as we do.

The swap was only good if we had a suitable player to swap withy. A suitable player is one who meets all the below criteria:
1. Someone Storm was happy to take
2. Someone who Wests Tigers wanted off our books
3. Someone who played winger/(maybe centre)
4. Someone who wanted to leave Wests Tigers and go to Storm

I presume we had no one who met that criteria. No other club has so far either. No surprise, it's an unrealistic demand, which I think is why Storm made it.

I'm not ok with our roster, but I won't judge the club on players that refuse to come, as that is not fully in our control. I will judge them on the players we actually do sign.

No, I don't like missing out on good players. I hate missing out on them but do you want the club to sign him at all costs and have him do a Matterson in a year's time? He's testing the waters which means he's not that keen to take up a good deal here when offered. He's either using us for leverage or leveraging everyone else against us.

It doesn't sound like it's WT that can't get it done.

If Melbourne wanted Lucy or Doueihi, you'd let them go for a winger? Also who's to say Melbourne didn't agree to a release in order to come to us and he's just stalling?

It seems that he did not, because he doesn't want to.
