So your conspiracy theory is that he asked for multiple releases to try and make it look like he wanted a release but doesn’t actually want a release, the Melbourne ceo coming out and saying we won’t release him without a swap was all a ruse, Josh saying he wouldn’t be playing for Melbourne again was fake and that it’s all an effort to bump his price up with Souths.

He could’ve just stayed at Melbourne and just asked Souths for more money next year during negotiations instead of all the drama Don’t you think ?

I am absolutely positive that Pooper is not a Tigers supporter, more the other way around.

As for JAC - if he wanted to be with family he would be jumping up and down about being released. Not go back to Melbourne without a whimper.

I don't think he has had any intention of coming here - it was Souffs all along to play with the Bros.

I put it down to JAC being a professional and not wanting to sour his relationship with the Club he won a premiership with.

The Storm CEO set out his requirements for a release which is between WTs and the Storm. Get the deal done and end the uncertainty.

Actually the Pooper article re JAC makes sense.

As soon as I heard the WT Chair saying that whatever JAC signed would oblige him to come here IF the Storm released him, then the stories of JAC being willing to stay in Melbourne made sense.

He has obviously changed his mind about coming here and has had a quiet word with Melbourne about not releasing him. Hope I'm wrong, but all the indications are that he won't be joining us.

Storm don’t have to release him tho.

Storm weren’t releasing him either way unless they got a swap which we arent keen on doing.

It’s as simple as that not sure why everyone wants to throw the blame on JAC constantly thinking he’s screwing us around Or doing a Latrell everyone’s got PTSD

Exactly. I don't understand all the frustration directed towards JAC. The Storm want a trade and set out their requirements. He's a huge upgrade and the question needs to be asked are we serious about improving?

Yeah no idea why everyone wants to attack Josh he’s done nothing wrong, it’s tigers and Melbourne who can’t get a deal done.

Rather than some people calling JAC a liar or saying he just wants to play with his mates at south’s or his staying at storm. They should be asking why players like him LM, and others don’t want to come to the club .That’s what I want to know

Not a popular question to ask here. From what I can tell it's the fault of the NRL, the media, Fittler and those dastardly clubs that are well run.

I would say at a wild guess that LM and JAC don't want to come here because they want to play with their Bros.

The others probably want to play where they have a better chance of playing in the final couple of games in the season and playing with better team mates.

Not rocket science - we just have to build pretty much up from the younger guys al la the riff and add a couple of below top notchers e.g.
James Tamou (signed) and maybe a Nicho Hynes, Jake Clifford, Nathan Brown (not necessarily them) but that type of standard rather than the Marquee that will go to the highest bidder and the best teams and shun us everytime and make us look bad.

Sick of the underhanded digs at people here.

It's pretty clear why we're an undesirable destination at the moment. Because we've sucked for a long time. We all know this - no finals in a decade, and we managed to put offside our best two players in the clubs history (in Robbie and Benji) at various points over the last few years. We have identified that we need a rebuild, and Madge and co are currently in the throes of that rebuild, but it's a work in progress, and at best will likely take another year or two, at it's worst another ten years.

There's a lot wrong with the NRL, the salary cap doesn't spread talent around (even by design), the referees and six again is definitely open to the question of bias, Greenburg did a lot to damage the game and V'landys has a very tough job to improve things.

But players don't want to come because we don't have a lot to offer at present. Not success, not good comradery, (we disrespected our legends remember), money, but they can get that anywhere.

All we need is for one big player to come, and that'll start to turn around our bad reputation, our reputation of being a little club badly managed. We thought LM was the one, but no he dogged us. And now JAC we thought could be the one, but no, it seems he has no faith in us which is ultimately what it comes down to. Hard to blame him for that, but disappointing, disappointing he doesn't believe in us, or that we couldn't convince him to believe we* had turned the corner.

So much for a club letting a player transfer go "on personal family issues". Money and greed speaks everywhere throughout the NRL.

I would guess that every players case is different. There could be many valid reasons including the money offered, recent record of the team, where their friends play, TPA's, the style of the coach, where they want to live, guarantees from the club regarding position or first grade spot, club facilities, salary cap breaching incentives from other clubs or even other reasons we can't even guess.

I am confident the club would also be looking at these things and improving what they can. The club will announce positive stories, they are not likely to admit negatives just to make you feel better.

Didn’t Tallis sit out a year to go to the Bronc’s from the Dragons?

If JAC was serious about family, he should do the same😂

Exactly there’s a million different variables as to why a player might not join, and that’s why players talk to multiple clubs. Everyone here is so quick to say oh they’re using us for money or they don’t wanna be here when we don’t know that.

I have no doubt JAC genuinely wanted to leave for the right reasons, whether that's still an urgent requirement for him or not I don't know.

My theory is purely that JAC wants to be with his mates at Souths. Be it next season or the one after.

You were acting like he doesn’t actually want a release from Melbourne so I thought back to all the things that point to the opposite of that and how you must think they’re fake.

Don’t see why he wouldn’t still want to leave, he just knows he might not have a choice in the end, if they won’t give him a release what can he do. He won’t chuck a sook about it clearly.

Nah - like I said I have no doubt if JAC really wanted the release without conditions, Melbourne would grant it.

They're both just handling it with respect for each other.

I’ve said similar, Josh doesn’t want to do a Matterson and make a club he loves resent him hence being willing to stay another year

What will be interesting is to see how his attitude changes the longer this goes on. If something else happens with his family it could push him to push harder for a release or maybe if he has to go back to Melbourne/QLD for pre season he will miss his family even more.

If it is true what's being said in the media plus what Lee said to Vossy in the interview maybe JAC has changed his mind but because of the HOA and the tiger's playing hardball with it he is stuck with us or the storm for 2021

To get to rabbits or dogs he probably has to ask storm to refuse release to null and void our HOA and than be free to sign with whoever in 2022

But all that makes a mockery of his family compassionate grounds release which by the end of next year will be 2 years without being home with his family even he was so desparate to return to Syd

That’s would be pretty out there and ridiculous. Don’t see him choosing to stay away from his family a year just to sign at a certain club. What’s more important playing footy with your mates or family

Cant be bothered reading through all the crap on here but I think its obvious whats happened

* JAC signed a head of agreement or whatever saying he'll play for us in 2021 if he can get a release
* He now dosesnt want to come here regardless of whether the Storm will release him or not, probably because Souths have said they'll sign him from 2022
* The only way he can get out of our agreement is to stay at the Storm next year

Honestly I think our club has done everything they can, we just have to accept that we aren't an attractive destination for an elite player atm. I also don't blame Josh', sure its a little unethical but why would he go from a club thats played 3 GFs in 4 years to one that hasnt played finals in 9, when a club thats generally top 4 every year wants him aswell?
