I am done with Hooper continually bagging us out!! he is supposed to be a supporter, with his crap reporting no wonder players dont want to come here!! I just dont understand his angle and what he is trying to achieve, you would think he would shut his mouth about us but he cant. Another question why are we a basket case??? There is no rhyme or reason we are!! Hooper had the shits about Benji for someone reason and he had no reason to be, has any club picked him up since he has left.. NO!!! I personnally was very disappointed with the way he handled his exit compared to the class of Chris Lawrence. If Hooper does read this forum shut your mouth and stop ragging out the club for no reason!! I am proud member and love this club to bits and for one I am happy with the way the club is going in trying to develop young talent. I think we have the coach and now the Chairman loves this club with passion!! This club may not be a destination club for some people but Hooper stop ragging out the club for no reason you goose!!

* JAC signed a head of agreement or whatever saying he'll play for us in 2021 if he can get a release
* He now dosesnt want to come here regardless of whether the Storm will release him or not, probably because Souths have said they'll sign him from 2022
* The only way he can get out of our agreement is to stay at the Storm next year

Honestly I think our club has done everything they can, we just have to accept that we aren't an attractive destination for an elite player atm. I also don't blame Josh', sure its a little unethical but why would he go from a club thats played 3 GFs in 4 years to one that hasnt played finals in 9, when a club thats generally top 4 every year wants him aswell?

There's absolutely no indication that he is happy to stay in Melbourne another year. None. Just gossip. He has been persistently saying how much he needs to get home to Sydney and how tough it's been having family members die while he's been away and unable to support them. And that this was his last year in melbourne.

The only other comms has been that the storm are still happy to entertain a swap. They've been trying to ruffle us up, and we're in a stalemate at the moment with neither side blinking. We've never tried to stand our ground with other clubs so we're new at this and other clubs know we always easily roll over. Do we cave in to get our man, or hope they just release him for free (or with a signing from another club as compensation).

The only club that Storm would get a "quid pro quo" transfer exchange for Addo Carr would be Roosters and that is so unlikely to happen.

Not even close to the same. JAC is stuck at Melbourne that’s it lol journalists trying to make drama out of it

I really, really doubt that if it works for JAC that Melbourne will stand in his way; assuming he really does want to be back in Sydney.

But Tigers doesn't work for JAC. Souths do.

So your conspiracy theory is that he asked for multiple releases to try and make it look like he wanted a release but doesn’t actually want a release, the Melbourne ceo coming out and saying we won’t release him without a swap was all a ruse, Josh saying he wouldn’t be playing for Melbourne again was fake and that it’s all an effort to bump his price up with Souths.

He could’ve just stayed at Melbourne and just asked Souths for more money next year during negotiations instead of all the drama Don’t you think ?

Sheeeesh, what? Not sure how you got that.

I have no doubt JAC genuinely wanted to leave for the right reasons, whether that's still an urgent requirement for him or not I don't know.

My theory is purely that JAC wants to be with his mates at Souths. Be it next season or the one after.

If it is true what's being said in the media plus what Lee said to Vossy in the interview maybe JAC has changed his mind but because of the HOA and the tiger's playing hardball with it he is stuck with us or the storm for 2021

To get to rabbits or dogs he probably has to ask storm to refuse release to null and void our HOA and than be free to sign with whoever in 2022

But all that makes a mockery of his family compassionate grounds release which by the end of next year will be 2 years without being home with his family even he was so desparate to return to Syd

That’s would be pretty out there and ridiculous. Don’t see him choosing to stay away from his family a year just to sign at a certain club. What’s more important playing footy with your mates or family

Just a suggestion

Seems weird that we let go players for spitting the dummy ( and no need for the we are a week club crap) and storm after 12 months of notice and JAC stating he has lost 7 relatives in 2 years can't get a look in for a release and he is ok with it

You don't think that seems pretty out there

Maybe playing with his mates is more important to him long term

You wouldn't know

Your not him

But I'm also sure storm told him at start of year they wanted 12 months to sort a replacement and would release him at end of 2020 obviously thinking they would have a replacement. Can anyone confirm this?

Than JAC stated at grand final? Or somewhere else he had played his last game with the storm so what's the hold up?

A change of heart from JAC? or a lack of caring from the storm?

I mean stopping a player even after 12 months notice and 7 family deaths just because you haven't got a replacement

What's more important to the storm?

JAC family or having a top line winger in their side regardless of his family issues

There is certainly something fishy going on and it doesn't seem either party is putting family 1st

They are either trying to screw tigers if HOA has been signed for a player or just pull out altogether as something better has come along

That seems pretty clear to me

Storm want a replacement, that’s it. They want to sign a winger in his spot. They’ve said that the whole time, big clubs care more about winning than anything.

They aren’t under any scrutiny from the media either so it doesn’t bother them really

Well they got George Jennings... 😀

If as reported we have a legally binding heads of agreement with JAC and the NRL deems that it should be honored would that open up the possibility of Souths having to release a player to us?

I think the wierd thing thats going on is that JAC wanted a release for compassionate family reasons, fair enough..he stated he wont be at Storm next year, fair enough...WTs offer him a HOA to come to them in 2021,fair enough....
NOW this is where things get worse for JAC....Bennett starts offloading players such as Roberts,Allen and then JAC says "I could stay at Storm one more year"",this gives Souths more time to create cap space under the guise of UPGRADING Trell, but it cant happen for next year but can in 2022..
Storm wanting a fair replacement and is business, however who has a player of JACS calibre to deal with...
If Storm wanted to show true compassion a release would have been granted without strings attached..I wont move from my opinion that JAC has always wanted to be with the brotherhood,if so its pretty low using compassionate grounds as an excuse...I hope this scenario has a positive outcome for Jac,WTs and Storm, otherwise there will be many doubts still hovering over the situation...

You explained it much better than I did but that's exactly how I see it heading at this point

It's a shame that our supposed HOA didn't state that if there is no release this year than it kicks in from 2022

I've never heard of one of these things being signed in League circles before though, I mean maybe they are being used just they aren't publicised, but the fact that we employed the use of one of these documents is pretty professional of the WT.

My hat's off to WT for that.

What I got out of the article is that jac is keen to come here but Melbourne haven’t got a replacement for him yet as soon as they get 1 he will be released and comming to the tigers he has been admitted that he wants to come to Sydney he has mentioned it in every interview

You were acting like he doesn’t actually want a release from Melbourne so I thought back to all the things that point to the opposite of that and how you must think they’re fake.

Don’t see why he wouldn’t still want to leave, he just knows he might not have a choice in the end, if they won’t give him a release what can he do. He won’t chuck a sook about it clearly.

Nah - like I said I have no doubt if JAC really wanted the release without conditions, Melbourne would grant it.

They're both just handling it with respect for each other.

I’ve said similar, Josh doesn’t want to do a Matterson and make a club he loves resent him hence being willing to stay another year
Don’t forget he initially wanted a release back to Sydney for this past season. He already stayed another year out of respect.

Now staying an extra two years out of respect and something sounds fishy to me.

Shouldn't be a problem for a current and multiple premiership winner to attract a winger.

No good ones are available though unfortunately for them.

Rather than some people calling JAC a liar or saying he just wants to play with his mates at south’s or his staying at storm. They should be asking why players like him LM, and others don’t want to come to the club .That’s what I want to know

I would guess that every players case is different. There could be many valid reasons including the money offered, recent record of the team, where their friends play, TPA's, the style of the coach, where they want to live, guarantees from the club regarding position or first grade spot, club facilities, salary cap breaching incentives from other clubs or even other reasons we can't even guess.

I am confident the club would also be looking at these things and improving what they can. The club will announce positive stories, they are not likely to admit negatives just to make you feel better.

Well that’s nice to know but if they want to make me feel better just start making the eight. Unlike the last how many years but I’m sure you will have an explanation for it,and no doubt let me know
