* JAC signed a head of agreement or whatever saying he'll play for us in 2021 if he can get a release
* He now dosesnt want to come here regardless of whether the Storm will release him or not, probably because Souths have said they'll sign him from 2022
* The only way he can get out of our agreement is to stay at the Storm next year

Honestly I think our club has done everything they can, we just have to accept that we aren't an attractive destination for an elite player atm. I also don't blame Josh', sure its a little unethical but why would he go from a club thats played 3 GFs in 4 years to one that hasnt played finals in 9, when a club thats generally top 4 every year wants him aswell?

You think he would put playing at Souths ahead of seeing his family an entire year? I feel like his priorities would be pretty messed up if that’s his plan

Well maybe the ''i want to be with my family'' is code for ''i want an extra $300k a year and i wont get that here'

Either way if he stays with the Strom we'll know the answer.. Guy is only 25, perhaps one more year away isnt that bad if it means he gets to play where he wants for the following 4

Melbourne probably would give him an upgrade if he wanted... apparently he’s not on huge money there and is an SOO player they would upgrade him

If it’s fullback money he wants then he wouldn’t go to Souths, they have Latrell.

Spot on he wants to be at souths and as we are playing hardball with HOA he stays at storm one more year and then he is happy for the next 4 years from 2022

Do we now have a crack at a subsidised Mansour

There's absolutely no indication that he is happy to stay in Melbourne another year. None. Just gossip. He has been persistently saying how much he needs to get home to Sydney and how tough it's been having family members die while he's been away and unable to support them. And that this was his last year in melbourne.

The only other comms has been that the storm are still happy to entertain a swap. They've been trying to ruffle us up, and we're in a stalemate at the moment with neither side blinking. We've never tried to stand our ground with other clubs so we're new at this and other clubs know we always easily roll over. Do we cave in to get our man, or hope they just release him for free (or with a signing from another club as compensation).

Good post BB. The Storm are a well managed club. We are much improved. Getting JAC even if a swap occurs is a win for us, a first really. We saw why on Wednesday night. Perhaps the best performed NSW player.

I’d say you’re right , considering The storm ties to news limited , and the fact they are the ones first saying the dogs , then that Souths is his likely destination. Putting pressure on us to make a move and swap one of our few good juniors , for a player we know we are getting anyway .
It’s funny how the dogs rubbish has gone super quiet , after the HOA rumour was all but confirmed . Who knows why JAC said he didn’t sign the HOA , he was probably told to say that by his manager or even dare I say wests tigers .
It’s ? gamesmanship now .

I heard it’s actually Nofa , but it’s a flat out no from us .

If Cam is retiring the Storm will have a lot more money

Maybe he has toughened up a bit and thinks he can get through without needing to move to Sydney ...maybe the issues in Sydney have sorted themselves out

Life changes everyday for everyone .....

Or we really do have an agreement and Melbourne haven’t budged on a replacement yet ? Eg perfect amount of time for people to make up the rumour that he doesn’t want to be here.

Lol just when you thought nothing could top the LM saga.... the very next off-season.......

Not even close to the same. JAC is stuck at Melbourne that’s it lol journalists trying to make drama out of it

I really, really doubt that if it works for JAC that Melbourne will stand in his way; assuming he really does want to be back in Sydney.

But Tigers doesn't work for JAC. Souths do.

So your conspiracy theory is that he asked for multiple releases to try and make it look like he wanted a release but doesn’t actually want a release, the Melbourne ceo coming out and saying we won’t release him without a swap was all a ruse, Josh saying he wouldn’t be playing for Melbourne again was fake and that it’s all an effort to bump his price up with Souths.

He could’ve just stayed at Melbourne and just asked Souths for more money next year during negotiations instead of all the drama Don’t you think ?

Sheeeesh, what? Not sure how you got that.

I have no doubt JAC genuinely wanted to leave for the right reasons, whether that's still an urgent requirement for him or not I don't know.

My theory is purely that JAC wants to be with his mates at Souths. Be it next season or the one after.

If it is true what's being said in the media plus what Lee said to Vossy in the interview maybe JAC has changed his mind but because of the HOA and the tiger's playing hardball with it he is stuck with us or the storm for 2021

To get to rabbits or dogs he probably has to ask storm to refuse release to null and void our HOA and than be free to sign with whoever in 2022

But all that makes a mockery of his family compassionate grounds release which by the end of next year will be 2 years without being home with his family even he was so desparate to return to Syd

That’s would be pretty out there and ridiculous. Don’t see him choosing to stay away from his family a year just to sign at a certain club. What’s more important playing footy with your mates or family

Just a suggestion

Seems weird that we let go players for spitting the dummy ( and no need for the we are a week club crap) and storm after 12 months of notice and JAC stating he has lost 7 relatives in 2 years can't get a look in for a release and he is ok with it

You don't think that seems pretty out there

Maybe playing with his mates is more important to him long term

You wouldn't know

Your not him

But I'm also sure storm told him at start of year they wanted 12 months to sort a replacement and would release him at end of 2020 obviously thinking they would have a replacement. Can anyone confirm this?

Than JAC stated at grand final? Or somewhere else he had played his last game with the storm so what's the hold up?

A change of heart from JAC? or a lack of caring from the storm?

I mean stopping a player even after 12 months notice and 7 family deaths just because you haven't got a replacement

What's more important to the storm?

JAC family or having a top line winger in their side regardless of his family issues

There is certainly something fishy going on and it doesn't seem either party is putting family 1st

They are either trying to screw tigers if HOA has been signed for a player or just pull out altogether as something better has come along

That seems pretty clear to me

Storm want a replacement, that’s it. They want to sign a winger in his spot. They’ve said that the whole time, big clubs care more about winning than anything.

They aren’t under any scrutiny from the media either so it doesn’t bother them really

Just as I said and if that's the case just like you said they don't care about his family situation

I wouldn't be happily staying in that system if I was JAC and even talking the storm up if I was desparate to get back to family and they didn't give a stuff

And look I'm not saying I'm right or your wrong

There is though something weird going on when you look at all the possibilities

Bellemy is out of the Storm in 2022 maybe players aren't as keen to go there not knowing who the Coach will be..
