Seriously, this forum has either been infiltrated or some people have turned into complete tools. All this 'i had lunch with pascoe' or " i mixed it in the chairmans lounge with important people" just makes you look a complete flog.

I don’t understand why we can’t attract decent players..
1 . We’ll pay you more than you’re worth
2 . We’ll top up your superannuation
3 . You’ll get more money for less games played
4 . You’ll get longer annual leave each year
5 . You’ll enjoy stress free finals

What’s not to like ?

The coach...as I've said numerous times before, players talk and he doesn't have a good reputation so recruitment of quality players is extremely difficult

Mansour would be a spectacular failure.

JAC is a dog.

Pascoe and co are useless. The deal was there to be done, we stalled and stalled and now miss out. Pathetic and embarassing.

Big pressure on Talau to play origin next year

You sure it wasn’t JAC that stalled and stalled?

Yes. This is our fault.

Storm had publicly said they would release JAC after a suitable player was acquired. We failed to swap two vastly inferior players for one of the best players in the game. Most clubs would have waited for a while to try and make a deal without giving up anything, but there comes a time when a deal must be made. Other clubs would have pulled the trigger. We didn't.

Talau is a promising junior. Who's had injury issues. How many players like that have we had that went on to play origin? Even swapping Nof for jac is a huge upgrade. We've been moaning Nofs awful defence for years. He's just above average. And he's identical to Mansour. Which is why we most cetainly do not need or want him.

I think the Storm were never going to release him. The term like for like comes to mind. Who do we have that is an Test and SOO player.

It is very widely reported that they were after Nof or Talau. Was i in the room when said negitioations took place? No. Would i swap either of those players for jac, yes. I would try and not lose any assets but ultimately i would swap these guys when the opportunity arose.

spot on a swap should have been made Nofo or talau as a club we are stupid

And if neither wanted to go do you just shackle them to the landing gear of the next flight out?

you just say like penrith did to mansour we think your future in first grade is limited at club

There are lessons, tragedies and complications beyond comprehension experienced by those who follow our team.

Paying my membership to charity next year, sick of throwing good money after bad. Until somebody is accountable for the failing or the club challenges the ineffective NRL salary cap I will just be giving the game a wide berth. Call it sooking but I’d rather call it being a realist, we’re a total dumpster fire.

Got me scratching my head, why did the Storm refuse him a release, than up his contract. This whole thing has been put together by the Storm and JAC management to get around theTigers deal. Total sugar coat the clubs media release.

They refused him a release because they need quality wingers. Vunivalu is gone and losing JAC would compound the issue. It may be they've been waiting for C. Smith to make a retirement decision to see what additional cash they'd have available.

I think the narrative they've done this just to somehow 'screw' the tigers is a bit conspiratorial.

Based on well known fact, I'd suggest:
1) they had an existing contract they were entitled to enforce,
2) they needed wingers,
3) Smith retiring frees up a pile of cash
4) JAC would be pleased to get a significant pay rise
5) He probably does like the Tigers, but the dominos fell away from us.

Iam not saying Melbourne were trying to screw theTigers but JAC management came up with a plan that gave the Fox a upgrade for 2021, the Storm were not seen at holding him from returning to NSW as the Fox agreed to the upgrade and it made the Fox a free man to sign with anyone he likes in2022.

Skipped like 9 pages so no idea if this has been posted but Chammas giving Tigers a good rap here. I agree with him too, turns out money is more important than family for JAC ![7BB9852E-9C7D-4817-97BE-459C61842658.jpeg](/assets/uploads/files/1605176893090-7bb9852e-9c7d-4817-97be-459c61842658.jpeg)

I guess it’s not a total failure if we get Laurie and Mansour for the price of JAC.

If you get Old Man Mansour it is.

If they unload Mansour on us, he'd want to be the dressing on a Burton and Staines package. We lack pace so Mansour is the solution?

Just had dinner with Scomo, might have to start supporting the Gummy Sharks.

Owell who cars there will be other players

Keep buying young talent and we will get there 1 day

I don’t think the club could have done much more to get him here the blokes clearly lying about wanting to get back to Sydney to be with his family so who needs him

I'm tired of this.

Tell me, Just tell me how you are going to make either of these two players leave their families and go to Melbourne, WHEN THEY DON'T WANT TO GO?

Are you going to force them at gunpoint, kidnap them and put them in the back of a truck and drive them down there, threaten to kill their families - I'm really interested in how yourself and others advocating the gift to the Storm (it is not a swap), plan to do this????

Please enlighten us.

Good decision by the Tigers. Moves motivated by money which result in us losing good young players are not smart. I’ve been banging on about it for a while. We have to grow our own talent. No more big money signings until we are a finals team naturally.

This exactly - the club handled this well. It was a smart move. Just like the Harry Grant swap. The disappointment in JAC's decision seems to be clouding the judgement of some who have become accustomed to digging in the boot.

If this is correct then it is clear it was never about moving back to Sydney for family. No wonder Melbourne stood firm. Let’s push on with building through recruiting and developing top young talent.
