I would have loved JAC but life goes on. We’ve recruited well this off-season IMO but with JAC definitely not coming we need to find some speed somewhere.

Unfortunately signing Nofoaluma is Plan. C when what is needed is Plan A. Our pace in the backs is reliant upon Roberts staying on field, a rookie in Kepaoa and also Brooks. Also maybe Laurie who looks more like a 6 if he can obtain a release. At some stage our club needs to invest heavily in pace in the ouside backs.

One is one of the best players in the world, the other is a 21 year old who's played 2games. One signing is a player who can help team's win the comp, the other might help them in a few years. What do we want to be competitive now or in a few years?
While Laurie does look very talented, we've been relying on talented youngsters to lead us to glory for 15 years now. Talented kids is only part of the journey for us, we also need some elite talent to help the kids develop into future stars, us make the finals and be more desirable and successful

Nowadays a strong winger makes a team.
Hit ups, line breaks, speed, spectacular finishes- wingers are bludgers no more.
IMO outside of the spine, it is the most important position in today’s game.
And JAC is hands down the best winger I have seen in many years.
In Origin I couldn’t believe that he didn’t get more ball - he was incredibly penetrating, always dangerous.
Anyone suggesting that he isn’t worth top dollar please reconsider. JAC absolutely is top top drawer.
Throw the chequebook at him.
we can get nofo for 450k or JAC for potentially 500k
it says plenty about this club lol

Are you also suggesting we should pay JAC the 750-800k it would take to land him here?

It would be loser mentality to keep going after JAC after he disrespected us and didn’t even bother to attend the meeting with us after origin.

He had been putting feelers out in a move to Sydney to be closer to family, Addo-Carr was pursued by the Wests Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs while South Sydney were also floated as a landing point.
Having made his debut for the Wests Tigers in 2016 before moving to the Storm, Addo-Carr has been forward about moving to fullback, with the position seen as a more lucrative position that on the wing.
The Daily Telegraphreported that **Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis said that the club was now out of the running.**
“**We are only interested in engaging with players who want to come and play for us,**” he said. “**And if the perception is the player doesn’t wish to come to the Wests Tigers because their manager doesn’t engage with us,** well, that is fine by us. I am not going to lose any sleep over it and we move on to greener pastures.”
The report also said the Newcastle Knights were making a surprise play for Addo-Carr as well.

Surely, taking a leaf from Bennett and Crowe, that means that JAC is a certainty to be a Wests Tiger in 2022.

Just so I understand correctly. You would be happy to let Nofa go if he wants a cent more than his current contract which let’s assume is 450k. You also mentioned you a proud of the clubs stance on having a ceiling on player worth.
Are you also suggesting we should pay JAC the 750-800k it would take to land him here?
If you are comparing the two, that is a nonsense. You and I both know one is an elite player while the other is a club player. You need to pay to attract the best. In addition, Nofoaluma has been on overs on his last contract and performed only this year in attack. His defence was the usual standard. If the reported $450pa is correct he should have taken at least $50kpa cut. In summary, I'd have no issue moving Nofoaluma on, with his right side partner BJ following him out the door.

I'm not comparing playing abilities, but you knew that already.
