I guess the big question is this as well

Bellamy is no fool .....surely he has considered JAC as a possible fullback if he thought he was capable and has many of the attributes of a fullback

He has the the greatest fullback I've seen as a mentor and still didn't consider making him JAC a fullback and let Drinkwater go

If Bellamy doesn't think JAC is fullback material is it wise we should think JAC is fullback material ??

That's because the young player he has at. fullback is simply outstanding. There is no need to consider others.

Why would you poach Papenhuyzen ...then not rate him and put him out for take (us included ) and then take him back if you haven't considered putting JAC at fullback ..he has 3 out of the 4 main attributes of being a fullback and he has Slater to teach him the positional side of playing fullback

Lot easier getting a good winger than a good fullback and far cheaper to get one from within your own ranks

He's had Slater, Hughes, Munster and Papenhuyzen to play fullback. I cannot speak for Bellamy but do know these four are/were exceptional players. JAC is one of the finest wingers to grace the NRL in many years. He would be the first winger picked in our team, if not the first player. Do not get caught up in the fullback talk. Just pay him fullback $and play him on the wing?

No way you would pay him FB money to play on the wing.

That is the stupidest thing you have ever said Paws.

Not worth anywhere near that money on the wing.

That's your opinion and you well know he is an SOO and Aust rep. He's not just a winger. We have no issue overpaying wingers whom are not at JAC's level. You do what you have to. so you have him. He's highly marketable and would put bumbs on seats.

FB money is 800+ to play on the wing??????

Don't think so Paws.

Russell, that's a little distorted. Doueihi would be on what $650?

I am very concerned that this Very good player looking for a fat contract and that the Tigers are going to overpay again.

We’re paying mbye 900k odd to plod around, we can’t do any worse

That is precisely the reason we should be weary. cant keep doing the same mistakes over and over.

I dont mind a little more for the right guy in the right position.

The NEW Wests Tigers goal should be to pay our best performers the best money.

We're half way there we've been paying the best money to the underperformed

Maybe, but I don't think JAC will play FB for less than 800k.

Doueihi is on 650 but Souffs are paying around 150 or 200k of that this year at least.

if Douhie is on 600k or 650k then JAC is twice the player and should be paid 750k or 800k
dont rhink douhie will ever make rep teams like JAC

JAC, what an x factor alright. But he be as effective to us as last night's depleted Storm's team with clunky halves that couldnt get a repeat set and build pressure (sound familiar?) That depleted side's forward pack & backline is even better than ours I reckon.
Maybe AD/Brooks/Mbye can solve it or we need to buy one before signing JAC with FB money.
Stains maybe the go for budget FB with high celing

We will be paying him 5 or 550k over the term.

If AD makes the Rep teams he will get there on football ability not just speed like JAC.

What’s the big deal in getting jac the guys a winger playing in a gun side. Down in Melbourne big difference playing in a very average side like ours you’ll see how really good he is then no bodies gunna come to us if we sign jac he’s not that big a signing

He'd be the 1st current SOO rep player we have signed in a long time

If it’s correct that he is on $350k at Melbourne and Robert Jennings is on somewhere in the region of $300-$350k with us. Then I can see why people are wanting a current representative winger to upgrade to even if it is going to cost us $500-$600k to get him.

SOO and Kangaroo rep? That's a pretty average comment.

He's already played for our 'very average side' and looked good doing it.

Who said Adam Doueihi is on 650k? Highly doubt he is on that much. It was reported his deal was around 400k/year with Souths chipping in his 1st year here

Who would have thought that we start complaining about signing a current SOO and Australian player, geez we've moved forward pretty quickly.

Only telling the truth mate we are a very average side I seen jac play for us never really set the world on fire only that he was quick and if McGuire swaps talau (who had a lot of interest from the storm when he was playing sgball ) then he’s crazy

Never set the world on fire? He’s a current NSW and Australia rep and In the top few wingers on the planet. What would be crazy is not doing everything you can to get him.

I believe you have to spend overs in a rebuild. It’s just how it goes for struggling clubs. Knights did it and they’re now being rewarded with what looks like a consistent finals side. Titans and Dogs to a lesser extent have spent overs on a couple quality players

Over time the rest takes care of itself. For so long fans complain that we don’t sign star players, well here is our chance and he is arguably only just starting to peak. He would put bums on seats and has something we’ve lacked for a long time - speed
