From Channel 9:

According to News Corp, the Storm wanted South Sydney winger and centre Campbell Graham in exchange for Addo-Carr, which swiftly ended negotiations with the Rabbitohs.

"We have spoken to the club he wants to go to and inquired about a couple of players and they have fobbed us off," Storm CEO Dave Donaghy told media on Wednesday.

"It is their prerogative but it's not helpful in trying to achieve an outcome for Josh."

I just read that article. Looks like Ch 9 just making things up. They didn't either put an author against it, just "By WWOS staff".

Give the Storms nothing. Backed themselves into a corner because nobody's taking the bait.

JAC is gone whether they get compensation or not...

Contract?

Contract?

Yeah, they can enforce the contract if they really want.

It doesn't help them though, unless they are willing to have him mope around, and potentially miss out on signing someone else who could be a long term solution for them it's not really a good outcome for them.

They are trying their luck in trying to secure a replacement and I don't believe that they necessarily will be successful in getting one. I certainly don't begrudge them for trying though. There ought to be more compensation for clubs who lose players before their contract is out. The player generally holds the cards as they can walk out into bigger contracts or stay on and underperform and destabilise until they get released, and if the club wants them gone, they are still owed what they signed on for.

Hang on that quote from the Storm boss was about Wests Tigers wasn't it...?

I dunno I’m highly doubtful we would’ve ‘fobbed them off’ as he says. Sorry, but that just doesn’t sound like us especially if we are trying to secure JAC for next season.

The did that thing where 2 pieces of information not related to each other , are directly followed by each other , so making people incorrectly assume that they are related . Eg. John went to the store . The store burnt down. ( it burnt down 1 week after John left ). It’s subliminal manipulation.

If JAC had been playing with us with one year to go on his contract and another club wanted him, I wouldn't let him go, unless we got someone awesome in return. Makes sense to me right 🙂 We would be so furious if his manager and next club squeezed him out from us for no incentive to us. Just offer him a deal for 2022 and see if they release him early later.

Not that fussed either way these days.

Either a players wants to join our club or he doesnt. Not going to lose any sleep over a player weighing up options and taking us along for the ride. Damage was done to this club by the last two coaches, this is where we are at.

By all means have a chat to those available but we need to be realistic enough to realise we arent really a destination most good players would like to come to.

If JAC ends up coming here to play fullback all good, ill invest in it after he has signed and it is announced by the club.

I don't like players leaving contracts early unless both JAC and Storm is happy for it to happen. I don't want to be part of the problem. I really think offer the deal, 2022, if they release, we arern't a part of it. I don't want him doing a Moses in his final year or anything. I hate that stuff and don't want to be a hypocrite.

Maybe the fox is just delaying signing to see if he can get more pages than LM

Dear JAC,

We promise, if you sign you will have 3 x the pages LM ever got.

Yours Respectfully

Everyone.

More pages = more stressed Wests Tigers supporters.

Nothing to stress about. If he wants to come here he will.

maybe the reason we aren't throwing the keys to the kingdom at melbourne for JAC is because we're hedging our bets to potentially offer Grant more cash to stay with us if Smith plays on?

Except from giving up a player, sure as eggs we will have to top up JAC's wage with whatever we can find cashwise

I think you’re onto something. Hate to see Harry go elsewhere cos we fell in lust with a winger

Mate I could live with no JAC if it meant we could keep Harry. Surely Mbye could learn how to catch a high ball in off season. Harry is a winner and you could build a team around.

He is, but my God we are in desperate need of some speed in our backline!
