There seems to be an underestimation of Liddle's ability. It was his crisp pass to Brooks for the field goal. It was his superb passing from dummy half which got our forwards moving forward against the Eagles

I’ve probably done that.
Hopefully liddle slowly keeps building his confidence back up.
At present Harry just just plays like a winner with and without the ball.i think liddle has just as much talent and is probably going to be one of ou our best attacking weapons 🤗

I actually like the way they compliment each other as they pose different types of threats from DH. Harry is more a scheming hooker who engages the markers and looks for weaknesses in defences like a Smith or Farah.

Jacob plays a seemingly more conservative game, providing excellent service from the ground to first receiver allowing the halves more time. He is also a threat from DH, like Damian Cook he has that speed to take advantage of a quick play the ball.

Pretty much spot on

5.Saab/ Staines

Now that's the making of an exciting backline.

It does but getting JAC, i doubt we get anymore 1-5. There's a need for a prop & likely reduction to 28.
Asu i think will compete hard for a wing spot & showing a lot of class. Then we have our young brigade Hoffman Talau Cini Kei. Momo returns as well.

We need Staines as well. Our current props need to lift their skills, especially defensive techniques. Have McIntyre demonstrate how it's done.

We still need a forward leader, we don't have one. We have 2 years to find a half, fullback, prop and outside back at a minimum and should be signing each of those as they become available.

Wasn't it only a few days ago members suggesting Aloiai was the future captain?

What your suggesting indicates this is not so. I agree but first priority is pace.

To be honest just because other forum member have said it doesn't mean I have or that I agree. I believe Aloiai can grow into the role as a forward leader but he is not that yet and bringing in someone who can show him how to be that player is crucial for his development.

Posts on Fb saying announcement today. Probably their version of ‘24 hours’

I just got told that as well lol, the person who told me that probably just saw it on facebook though.

Great signing at 550k. He's one of the premier backs in the game and a draw card for other players.

I doubt he'll play fullback - realistically he'll get the trial games there and then come the end of the trial games/start of season, he'll get moved back to the wing. He doesn't have the ball playing ability to succeed there and unlike others who in the past have wanted to play fullback, it doesn't seem to be an ego thing for him but it was more of a thing to justify a higher salary. I think he'll be fine with slotting back onto the wing.

It will give us the best wing pairing in the comp and two guys who'll start our sets on the front foot. In fact, between Addo-Carr, Nofoaluma, Doueihi and Leilua, we'll have one of the best metre eating backlines in the comp.

If we could secure Grant long-term too, it would be a great result. Grant + Liddle works well. Grant at hooker for the first 55 minutes and then Liddle at hooker with Grant in a Cameron McInnes/Brandon Smith type lock role for the last 25 (similar to how we did against Manly for the last 15). Imagine being able to spread the ball easily both left to right against tired defences - either to a Doueihi/Addo-Carr edge or Leilua/Nofoaluma edge.

Do you believe we should be removing a prop before making an offer to another? We've a nice collection now.

the way i see it now getting him for 550k to play at fullback and if he fires its a steal

if not its wing for 550k which is still great

Liddle would be a starter at the Broncs and other teams.

Wait until he gets the confidence back in his knee , which usually takes about a year . Every time you step you do it , just a little bit less than you used to , every time you take off the same . It’s not until he gets a few months under his belt that he forgets it’s even an issue will we see the dynamic , amazing running game he has .
I for one forgot how good he was . Now I’m pumped for next year. Especially when Simpkins, who everyone is sleeping on , is considered a better prospect than Grant was at the same age .

Plus third party deals on top .. base salary +! The Fox would be an attractive third party deal participant no doubt.

550k for a fullback is a steal. I'm just worried that he will deny and melbourne will ask for Talau or Nofa.
Please not Nofa

The reduction to 28 really hurts us because we have players who are soaking up roster spots, so ideally yes. In reality it depends on our intentions and expectations for next year.

If we are genuinely looking at next year as a building year with expectations of being in the bottom half then I would sign what ever is available in the targeted positions this year, then fill the rest next year.

If we are looking at being a top 8 side and playing finals football then you hold off signing the Huth until we see if we can upgrade his position. I believe Clark is already moving on.

If you were given a choice of one player at $600k who would you choose?
The Foxx or Harry Grant?

Harry is worth way more than $600K. I reckon he'd field offers of $800K+ if he went on the open market right now.

1.Mbye
2.nofo
3.BJ (talau will take his spot when ready)
4.Doueihi GK
5.Fox
6.Madden
7.Brooks
8.Aloiai
9.Grant(I have a good feeling about him staying)
10.Twal (we don’t need tamou this man is literally just like him)
11.Lucy
12.Blore (madden and Blore will be awesome)
13.Mclntyre (awesome ball playing Lock)

14.Liddle with grant shifting to lock...if grant leaves Walters onto the bench to replace McIntyre
15.Mikalele
16.stefano or Musgrove
17.Garner
