For got god's sake if Storm want Talau for JAC it's a no brainer, let him go and maybe come back when Storm has trained his arse off, he'll quickly learn that Madge wasn't that bad after all, we win! Moma will come back with a bit more polish, it's a pity injuries kept him out of playing more games though. Do what's necessary to get JAC pls tigers.

Wait until November 1 and sign him for 2022.
Then negotiate with the Storm.

I think that’s way it’s going to go down.

Storm have requested Talau or Nofa and the CEO is correct we have basically Fobbed them off.

The storm are in a position of power here. I’m surprised Talau was requested, I wouldn’t call him an equivalent player. No one comes close to Addo Carr’s speed and game awareness on the wing.

What works perfectly is that the Finals will cease shortly before November, so it would be a good outcome for all to sign Josh on his 4 year deal from November 1.

However another club. Like for instance the Knights could trade, Lee, Tuala, Sta futoa? Or the Sea eagles could trade Albert or Funa or Suli or Garrick.

The only thing in our favour at this stage is that Josh seems keen to be a Tiger.

It sounds like he wants to be a fullback and play in Sydney. Souths have Latrell, Bulldogs have Meaney/DWZ/Hopoate, Roosters Tedesco, Dragons Dufty, Sharks Kennedy, Penrith Edwards.

I rate the Fox but giving up Nofa or Talau is not going to happen the players will unlikely want to move to Melbourne let alone the club losing players with a thin roster. Bellamy is going and Covid is a drama.

This is not a compassionate release. It’s a team trying to get value from someone that wats out albeit for family reasons.

This is why the NRL will never grow all clubs are self interested beyond the point of a good competition. This years comp is one of the worst ever constructed the gap between teams is horrendous.

I wonder if we could entice them to loan deal for JAC. We loan them a player like Talau or Momos for a year. They then have another year to sign their long term replacement. JAC gets released on condition of the loan and end of next season we get our loan player back after a year in the storm system, or in Momos case 2 years.

Decent list to pick from out of the following...

Off contract 2021 - WING

Josh Addo-Carr, Kane Bradley, Xavier Coates, Christian Crichton, Tevita Funa, Dane Gagai, Reuben Garrick, Ryan Hall, Edrick Lee, Greg Leleisiuao, Josh Mansour, David Nofoaluma, Jayden Okunbor, Jonus Pearson, Jordan Pereira, Maika Sivo, Reimis Smith, Jorge Taufua, Christian Tuipulotu, Daniel Tupou

Its bloody brilliant that we "fobbed them off." What a load of crap. We constantly get roasted for letting go of our youngsters and then they're suggesting we somehow just "fobbed them off." I'd say the recruitment team have decided that no more giving up potential. Can you imagine Crawley and co. carrying on if we traded Talau, AJ, Rizk or anyone else let alone Nofo. Lets have players that want to come to our club. Over to you JAC and management. There is a future at the Tigers. Most just haven't realised it yet. We'll have our turn.

It seems like Storm are hoping we panic. There may well be more suitors after the finals. I for one* expect Souths to come out and have another crack at some point. And Storm like every team and every person know we were played by* Dogshot Mitchell last year in a similar situation. (Similar in that we thought we were the only team in the race.)

Hopefully the Tigers camp stays strong and doesn't budge. Keep talking to the Fox, don't offer anything we don't want to lose. And make sure we have a back-up plan for if we do miss out on him. The only way we can lose here is if we cave in.

Would not trade nofo for Jac in our team. If we had mongrel and damaging forwards maybe but as it stands nofo is the only tacklebuster and hard runner. Actually no there's Lucy too but that's it...

I don’t get this like for like comparison... it’s not like we don’t need to upgrade JAC contract considerably, we also have to give them a talented rookie that is also on a low wage?

A like for like replacement is JAC for Nofa. If Nofa insisted on an upgrade and demanded to play fullback for 800k a year.

Why would we trade when JAC only has a year left? How about we loan them momo for 1 more year then they can sort it out after that.

We're in the position of strength here. It's JAC that wants to leave, Melbourne should take our rejects. Jennings belamy?

and clearly the Fox has more integrity than some players and not play the "victim" card and just play crap until he gets his own way.

Interesting this article comes out following the re-signing of William Kei. Perhaps not linked but the Storm did ask for one of two players they were interested in.

Loan them one player for a year. As someone wrote earlier, he has one year left. Make sure that player is signed to us for the years after.

Stories now in the SMH with Slater reckoning JAC will make it at fullback with the Tigers.
Seems a forgone conclusion he'll be with us.
Probably Tamou as well.

Until its announced I am not convinced unfortunately... Especially with the Suli guy at Souths asking outrageous demands for a guy that hasn't even played a reserve grade game.. Not the kind of guy I would want on my team.. My gut feeling is he pulls out and guess what..... JAC to souths just like LM again..

Not if he is a man of his word
He wants to play fullback
He cant do that at souths now can he

I think we should be offering someone to get the deal done. If we wait until the off season, other sides will likely have circumstances change where they can make offers to JAC, pushing his price up.

If we have to give them Talau maybe we should. Sounds like he’s dropped down the pecking order anyway.

I doubt Storm asked for our lesser known players like Kei who has played 1 reserve grade game. They will want someone ready to play FG round 1 next year.

Talau does seem down the picking order after BJ, AD, Mbye, Momo, Kei so maybe a benefit for him to learn off Bellamy and we get JAC. Win/Win. We also had a kid play a trial game at centre who looked good but maybe too young.

The storm are in a position of power here.

I think we are in the position of power - JAC wants out. We don't need to give them anything in return. Sign him up and play the waiting game - they will probably roll over.
Even if he doesn't come in 2021 they will have an unhappy camper then we get him in 2022. Win/win for us and helps destabilise them for next year.

They (The storm) will capitulate just like the Roosters did with Latrell.

Their illusion of power is only due to JAC not dogging it (ala Ryan Matterson).

Lot of outside backs next year Mbye, JAC, Nofa, AJ, Joey, Douehi, Talau, Momers - 8 into 5 positions mayby 6 if one of them plays 5/8 then a heap of young guys - Cini, Bradley, Kei. I think we will see Momorovski stay at Storm mayby for JAC

Sorry , that is why it is taking so long , as Souths trying to free up space . Can’t confirm anything just throw the aboriginal grape vine .
