I don't understand this - he is already at the bunnies - there is conflicting stories about whether he is signed or not. According to NSWRL site in January this year he was signed with Souths until the end of 2021. https://www.nswrl.com.au/news/2020/01/04/20-stars-for-2020--joseph-suaalii/
The article by Foxsports also says he is technically signed for 3 years on close to 600k a year - what does that mean "technically signed". That article also says he is demanding a new 5 year deal. Huh? From when - now or the end of 2021.

I read that he agreed to a 3 year deal with Souths earlier on but that contract hasn’t been registered by the NRL yet so it’s not official. Now he’s demanding more and it sounds like the whole contract will be thrown out and he’ll be a free agent. Bennett himself said it’s unlikely he’ll be there next season

I understand that i just find it strange that the NSWRL site had him already signed until the end of 2021 and that was in January. The Foxsports article says he signed his 3 year 1.7 mil deal in June and that was the one not registered. So obviously one of those reports is wrong.

Also if Foxsports is right then he did sign the contract in June - the NRL wouldn't register it until he turned 17 in August. He is now demanding they change the original contract. I'm no legal eagle but i would imagine souffs would have every right to enforce the original contract now that it meets the NRL requirements. Maybe some of our contract experts on here could enlighten us.

Talau was a Melbourne Storm fan growing up and his favourite player was Billy Slater growing up... bit of incentive maybe.

Cameron Munster had a plush Tiger instead of a Teddy as a kid..

Geo your telling fibs again
Happy reckons it was you that had a Tigger not Tiger
and Winnie the Poo not a Teddy
He also reckons your the one in blue

oh well if we had given melbourne talau earlier we may have had JAC oh well
lets go for Staines i guess

Relax, we're well in the hunt for JAC. I have to laugh at the conclusions some people draw on here.

Do you blame them after all the rubbish that happened with Latrell last year?

I wouldn’t swap any player that’s part of the clubs plans unless it’s the same position you are releasing. Mbye is the only player that makes sense. No young players and only ones that free up salary cap space.

Storm are being flogs they asked for Campbell Graham from Souths and David Nofoaluma.
You either release on compassionate grounds or you don’t.

Manly are doing it with Fonua Blake and other clubs have done similar. The player has a year to go and any club signing him is paying top dollar he’s not coming for 450k. Therefore paying top dollar and releasing a junior in a position of need or a top class player like Nofa is dumb.

Lastly Bellamy is leaving next year and not many people will want to live in communist Victoria under Chairman Dan moving forward. Storm won’t be attractive in the years to come and these players who they want are unlikely to want to leave. It’s ridiculous.

Hit the nail on the head their TYGA.

I really can't see Melbourne doing well without Bellamy at the helm. Without Bellamy and Cam Smith they don't seem very attractive to be at

Gotta wonder about our operations when other clubs slam us in the media.
Usually clubs are fairly tactful and diplomatic with each other in these scenarios....

"We have spoken to the club he wants to go to and inquired about a couple of players and they've fobbed us off," Donaghy said.

"It is their prerogative but it's not helpful in trying to achieve an outcome for Josh.

I don’t know about that. Sounds a bit like sour grapes. They want someone of similar ability and I suspect Nofo was their target. A little unprofessional from the young Melbourne CEO if you ask me.

Nofo and Talau were the targets.

By the sounds of it he wanted to go to souths
But souths rejected Melbourne's offer of a trade for Camble Graham

So who was Addo-Carrs preferred destination
Tigers or Souths
If its souths 1st then we may be used as a stepping board for Addo-Carrs way to souths
And that won't be good

If we bottle this now by refusing to give them Talau we don’t deserve to be successful. The guy is a SOO and test player.

Talau has to want to go ..
You can’t just taser him and throw him in the back of a van and drive him to Melbourne

What if we just asked him really nicely.

Stuff it lol
Taser him !

The Taser doesn't work that way Hobbo, trust me, I know.

He doesn't believe you ...he just PMed me ...Some practice wouldn't hurt ...post it on the Forum

Do it a few times Willow

Why don’t the Storm just keep Momorovski

Because an injured Brenko Lee has been getting the nod over him.

I kinda think Brenko’s had a good season so far. Probs more to do with the players around him but he’s looked solid.

Momo looked decent early on and then the injury bug struck. Wasted development year unfortunately

JAC watch: Day 27

Go have a shower mate

You will have another 100 showers before we know the outcome of this..

Storm would want him to come to us over Souths I would assume :man-shrugging:

Hey, that sounds like a recent familiar scenario. Wests tigers the fall guys.
