i have been informed that JAC has signed a "heads of agreement" with us. It's a good start but not a contract yet.

Guess he can’t sign a contract until Melbourne allow him to, unless it’s a contract for 2022 whcih can only be done from November 1

What the hell’s that

Meaningless, non binding outline of agreed terms.

The pom, while not an employee of the club IS a very reliable source of info.

Stand up person and extremely passionate about the club.

No ones questioning them as a person however it’s hard to know how reliable anyone on a forum is.

Personally I’ve seen him/her get one signing right and it was about 15 mins before it was published online so their source could just be the media which might not be right at all.

Some people who’ve been around longer might know how many actual signings they got right, they’re good for rumours that seem half decent though

Believe him or don't believe him ...I'm sure the Pom doesn't care either way

I’m sure it’s good Info but someone was saying we should relax cause the pom said it ? I know what footy is like things constantly change

Of course ....I have my own case of being told by a solid source one thing and next day it changed

Then changed back again, so you were correct in the end.

What was said ?

Nothing, assuming Happy is talking about Tedesco changing his mind overnight to sign with the raiders and later reneging on that deal.

Yeah ...but I know of many other cases of players changing their minds daily

Jason Little was the same when he almost switched codes to play with the Crushers

Correct! As i said, its a HOA, not a contract. What The Pom said about 10 pages ago regarding JAC contract terms are correct.. that's what was agreed in the HOA.

I don’t believe anything Rothfield has to say , he is just a speculator

He is currently half way through another bottle tonight drinking by himself while reading this thread
He throws out a bit of bait to see who bites
Some of you guys fall for it
Thats what keeps him going
I feel sorry for him in a way
Imagine having a job where you go out of your way to make others depressed and angry
Its no wonder he is hated

What ever happens happens with Addo-Carr
We cant force someone to come here if they don't want to come
We put in an offer we believe is fair and on the money and that is it
Take it or leave it
Come November 1 if he doesn't sign with us for 2022 then we move on and quick
We should be calling the shots
Not hanging by a thread
Now of course I don't know the exact situation with JAC
And I believe no one really does
He cant sign with anyone yet so anything is possible
Buzz wouldn't know his left from his right
He is grasping at straws but he has to write about something
He gets the most reaction right here
Don't feed his ego

Bulldogs reportedly in box seat to sign Storm grand final winger Josh Addo-Carr

The Bulldogs have become favourites to sign Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr, a new report says.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Addo-Carr was a big chance to play for a grand final opponent next season, with Panthers assistant Trent Barrett taking over as Canterbury head coach. Addo-Carr, the NSW Origin and Australian Test winger, is a Barrett fan.

Addo-Carr is seeking a move back to Sydney for family reasons. The Rabbitohs and Wests Tigers are also in the mix for his signature.

It has been reported that he wants to play fullback; it is unclear what position he may play at the Bulldogs. The struggling club has already signed Canberra winger Nick Cotric for next season, though he could play in the centres.

The Storm granted Addo-Carr a release on the proviso that it gained a comparable player in return from his new club. That sticking point will need to be worked out in the ongoing negotiations.

Addo-Carr is leaving all negotiations to his management, aiming to enjoy a winning farewell with Melbourne in the looming grand final.

"I made the decision to put all that stuff behind me and really focus on the finals series," he told The Sunday Footy Show.

"My manager and the Melbourne Storm are really working their backsides off to get this deal

What this report says to me (particularly with the Pom news) is that the Tigers have made the right offer, sounds about right. If the Dogs drop out of the clouds and poach him it is ONLY about $$$ and the Tigers are right and doing the right thing letting it go.

Wont stop a lot of hand wringing here about how terrible we are because we let another one slip, but at the end of the day, to me , the club is going about this in a professional manner.

Professional gets you nowhere in this league.

First: Panthers - numerous sex and Covid scandals last 18 months, poached a coach under contract
Second: Storm - systematic cheats, stripped of titles
Third: Eels -systematic cheats, stripped of premiership points
Fourth: Roosters - nothing to see there

Can we try unprofessional?

We are unprofessional

We just suck at it

11th - Wests Tigers - salary cap punishment for trying unsuccesfully to cheat the cap.

explain how we benefited from this
By paying RF $600,000 out of our cap to play for souths
By re signing him 18 months later
By offering him a job he never took
Or by having our cap reduced by $640,000 over two years
All for a hooker who's time was up
Oh and throw in the fact our CEO was band from performing his job for 6 months
There seems to be two standards in this league
One for Wests Tigers
And one for the rest

It is worth noting that the Cleary did not rate DWZ and the group also did not like him. Barret is coming straight from Penrith, so he would be well up to speed on the reasons Penrith wanted him gone.

One thing other clubs do MUCH better than us with players they want to move on is they basically tell them "you will be in state cup for years". Look at Ricky Stuart, who has openly said he threatens players with years of meaningless footy.

We really should be a lot of tougher...we have told so many players they are not wanted the past couple of years, but they all stay in the squad.

So, Dogs will likely be ruthless with this. I can't see them getting JAC unless DWZ is offloaded. Let's hope no one bites.

Jason Taylor got hammered for that when he suggested Robbie would be in reggies because he was trying to get rid of him. So its ok if its a player who everyone dislikes but if its a player who is cuasing problems and is on big money but the fans like him then we will sack the coach.

Wasn't Farah the Origin hooker at the time? It's a bit rough to be dropped in that scenario.

Farah was indeed origin hooker, but that didnt entitle him to run the entire club and in doing so shaft yet another coach who wants to do things their way
Exactly the same goes for self entitled Benji.Just doesnt get it.
The results on the board of players running the club for the past decade or so have been less than stellar,so lets try allowing a premiership winning coach to run the joint
...and Benji can walk on his own eggshells in the transit lounge.

The fetters of tyranny. That JT era lost the WTs many good young players. I have no doubt we are just now recovering from thst disastrous appointment.

No we have a fair way to go to recover from that mistake.

Then cleary had his go and destroyed the salary cap and roster even more.

Its a long slow recovery.

Yet the people or person who hired Taylor and Cleary and oversaw their reign are still here. But we expect better results.

Yes because he was to impatient
He wanted signings
We need to target players who will strengthen our team and club
Not just fill our available spots

Here's the latest with JAC:

1. He's accepted the offer put forward to him from the Tigers (Best $$ wise compared to others)
2. Fullback bonuses included, (If he makes FB his own the deal would average out to $675,000 P.A)
3. 4 year deal starting in 2022 there ready to sign Nov 1 if deal with Melbourne not reached before.
4.Would be a lie to say if the club wasn't nervous that during this delay there are others trying to get in through the back door. Melbourne don't appear keen on James Roberts & Souths don't have the $$ to match our offer even with Lowes retirement.
5. No idea where Bulldogs name came up into this, no formal talks/offers presented last check.

Cheers mate. Any other possible signings you can mention?

No world beaters, currently depends on 3 things, JAC, Harry & if we can move along the big $$.
On a serious note Packer is still expressing mild headaches due to the last concussion.

So we are actually in with a chance to keep Harry?
