Pretty much the same pack that got owned most weeks this year.

I think our pack improves next year. Stefano and Musgrove will add much needed impact off the bench. we should have a very dangerous back row pairing if Blore has a big preseason. Tamou will have one starting spot and Aloiai and Twal should build on what were good seasons this year. still missing a tearaway that will go to war with the opposition, but for the most part I think we're doing ok.

I think our starting pack improves. Something like:

9 Liddle
10 Mikaele
11 Luciano
12 Garner
13 Twal

14 Stefano
15 Aloiai
16 Blore
17 Musgrove

Mcintyre, Seyfarth, Chee Kam and Packer as back ups. Its a solid pack but really lacking quality depth in the backrow once some injuries hit like they did this year. Think you may find one of those props move into the back row potentially. We are really 1-2 backrowers short, but have a host of props in Mikaele, Tamou, Steafno, Aloiai, Musgrove, Packer and Twal (Is ore a prop tbh).

I'm not sure how anyone can get excited by our back row ....Lucy is doing a good job and probably gets a B ...no one else would get a C ...no matter how much potential they have shown

The Andrew Webster article in the Herald yesterday was throwing a few stiff arms at Solly and Souths for not being able to hang onto Suaalii. Interestingly he claims the youngster was earmarked as Souths FB from 22. He goes onto explain it was the reason for Mitchell getting a one year contract. My question is, now they’re out of the race for Suaalii, do Souths still think there is a better FB in Addo-Carr available? Has the Mitchell experiment run it’s course?

Yeh, unfortunately its looking more like thats the case. Latrell has been constantly in Bennetts ear about it.

The reality is we need a lot of guys to step up next year. Some of them look likely but there aren't a lot of week in week out consistent performers. Aloiai and Lucy are our only two consistent performers. Eisenhuth was pretty consistent but he is going.

Then again Musgrove, Blore and even Twal may have much better seasons next year plus Tamou & Stefano may be good.

I suppose I like the look of the pack but a lot of guys have to prove themselves next year. It's unlikely a 4 or 5 of them improve significantly but I hope they do.

JAC will be announced after the Grand Final with the Tigers. Also Edene Gebbie is on our radar and I think he has agreed to join.

I take it your not so confident about this now?

It’s still after the Grand Final.

Didn't sound that confident.
Not sure how it's complicated when he can sign on for 2022 next week.
Surely things fall into place after that.

Its JAC... whoever he joins wants he wants then to sign him for next season not the one after. This means player swap has to happen. For that to happen the other player has to agree and has to be wanted by the Storm.

We can offer him a deal for 2022 but thats not what JAC wants. The storm also wouldn’t have an issue with him playing another year for them (they did it this year).

It’s not about money hence why it's complicated

Surely JAC has signed somewhere... The Storm is a professional outfit and will not be paying a player salary (from Nov 1) if he does intend to leave.

I agree. It’s similar to when we let Matterson go. I’m pretty sure it all happened in early November.

If they want a replacement, getting what they want is more important than paying a couple weeks salary. Our management was very weak for using this as a reason not to negotiate a swap for Matto.

I don’t think Musgrove let us down in the few games he managed.
We’ll be better with him in the pack every week.

They aren't getting what they want. He is an Australian and SOO winger. There aren't any available and no club is going to agree to a swap deal unless there are other favourable terms such as DWZ for instance going to Melbourne on full fieight but why would Melbourne agree to that.

JAC has on numerous times stated he is going to Sydney and he won't be at the Storm next year. It doesn't leave them with much bargaining power. You just sign him for 2022 and go from there. It'll be interesting what trade they get from any club. My guess is nothing.

Clubs knew the way Matterson was carrying on he would never play for tigers again. They were smart not to swap us anyone. JAC on the other hand has been all class

You are right, Twal is not a backrower, he should be in the prop rotation, we could do with Crighton or similar

Yep, he will essentially be a new signing, we didn't get much of him this year due to injury. But he was good in his few appearances.

Far out. The media is doing all it can to try to sway JAC to sign with the Dogs. How about an article about how pathetic the Dogs are from the Board down to the 2nd last placed football team? At least this information is current, rather than citing our recruitment issues pre Madge and Hartigan. If you want to go back to the past then cite how useless Barrett was as a coach overseeing a culture of infighting. How he makes a great assistant coach ala Jason Taylor, but will never see success as a head coach due to his incompetence as a man manager.
