Why are people still posting here when there is no news to be expected until after Origin 3? These kinds of threads are the ones which make our fanbase look silly.

Look silly to who?

The few opposing club forums I'd visited years ago were far more off tap than we are

Anyone have a link to the article?

Wests Tigers will meet with Josh Addo-Carr’s agent on Thursday to try sort out one way or another if the flying NSW winger will be at the Tigers in 2021.

Addo-Carr has told his manager Mario Tartak that he just wants to get through Wednesday night’s State of Origin II in Sydney before making a final decision on where he will be playing next season.

Tartak also has a meeting with new St George Illawarra coach Anthony Griffin set down for Tuesday to try and negotiate a release for young winger Jason Saab to hopefully join Manly before preseason training starts back next week.

Meanwhile, it is understood Addo-Carr has told Tartak that he wants to know where he will be playing next year before next Wednesday’s Origin decider.

It gives the Tigers one last crack at landing the player now rated the world’s best winger, but it must be said their chances don’t look too crash hot going into the meeting.

Addo-Carr has already committed to a heads of agreement with the Tigers that if he comes to Sydney next year it will be to play under Michael Maguire.

But there is an increasing likelihood Addo-Carr will stay at Melbourne to see out the final year of his existing contract.

That would then allow him to open negotiations with rival clubs for 2022 and beyond immediately after Origin is finished.

Understandably, other clubs are already circling given the recent speculation that Addo-Carr may be having cold feet about joining the Tigers.

The Tigers’ reluctance to cut a deal with the Storm so far and hand over either Tommy Talau or David Nofoaluma certainly hasn’t helped their case.

Melbourne is also now in deep negotiations with Canterbury’s Reimis Smith for next season but that doesn’t necessarily mean Addo-Carr can’t stay.

The Bulldogs are one of several clubs who would be interested in signing Addo-Carr for 2022 and beyond.

Sigh. Shooting ourselves in the foot but I won’t get into it again ? thanks for the repost.

End of the day even if he wanted to come here more than anything in the world, Melbourne need to release him.

I don't see any purpose of chasing a player who does not want to play for the WT! He had plenty of chances so far!
I really losing interest in this saga, it would be much better if we (as I hope we do 😛ray: ) chase players that want to play for the WT, and forget 'anyone but WT' types like LM or JAC!

The only people making it a saga are the people dramatizing the whole situation. If he comes he comes. If not he doesn't. Just let it play out.

I don't even know what rep points are haha. Is -27 bad???

I love the passion on here as I'm a die hard supporter too, but c'mon guys I feel bad that everyone posts on this thread daily and the signs just don't look good for us.

Just FYI when Tedesco was leaving the club to go to Canberra I met with Grant Mayer (at the time) to raise $50K to keep him...and Mayer told me that they were going after Karmichael Hunt instead which I thought was a joke. And when Tedesco, Woods and Moses were leaving the next time I met with Pascoe and told him that Woods and Teddy were leaving (because I had heard from my friends) and they should try at least to lock in Moses (because I believed he was better than Brooks... I know people hate him but he did almost get us into the 8 when Taylor was coaching and Tedesco and Brooks were injured for the last few games - and both Pascoe and that dude from the Dogs who was our Football Director at the time cant remember his name both said Brooks was better than Moses - both have no idea btw).... and then met with Marina Go to try and raise the funds to keep them - she had no idea either - I went to a function with her where Gary Jack was saying a speech and she said "Look over there its Gary Johns, do you know who he is?" .... so yeah give me minus 27 points.... but I can tell you first hand... our administration is very average....maybe its better now but the fact that JAC wont come out and commit to us seeing though we are apparently the only club with a solid 4 year offer tells me he doesn't want to come. hope I am wrong bc like all of you I want to win.

This heads of agreement thing is pretty savvy move by WT. It sounds like we had it agreed to fairly early and snuffed out the other clubs.

Not enough praise has been made for the great business WT have done. I've never heard of this being done before, add it to the first player trade in Harry Grant and our club leadership have shown this year they are willing to think creatively and be very professional.

Hopefully we continue down this new path and eventually right the wrongs of our admin from the last decade. As they say winning starts at the front office.

I would like to know though, How you can sign a legally binding HOA before Nov 1, when you can't sign contracts before Nov 1?

Either this is a contract to sign another contact (which should breach the Nov 1 rule) or there's enough wriggle room to give WT a strong hand but not to determine the outcome, I.e if we match to offer we get player, etc

Marina gets a lot of love on here and yet she oversaw the worst time in the clubs history. If the the same goings on were happening under the current chair they would be calling for blood.

The bit I’m concerned about is the statement ‘JAC wants to know where he is playing next year prior to the start of the final origin game.’

Well he knows at this stage he has two options Melbourne or us.

But If Melbourne has a condition to a release based on a player swap and we aren’t entertaining that then why would this need to be discussed with the Tigers.

If the tigers have an agreement in place that says he is effectively signed pending Melbourne’s release then, I can only think that he has called this meeting to try and break the heads of agreement deal so he can take up a deal with the Bulldogs / the Remis trade.

I mean you should take all these articles with a grain of salt as they’re just made to put words in the players mouth. Nowadays players and their managers do well to keep coy about their future whereabouts.

You may have noted that I mentioned a ‘heads of agreement’ was signed awhile ago BUT no official contract.
Well, the same mail has just told me that JAC is a done deal !!!!

Good stuff mate. I did realise you were the first person to mention the HOA even before it came out in the media

One more year should give Souths enough time to push out some more players, have done their best so far this off-season to cull a few.

I dunno how much harsher it can get for someone like Corey Alan to be told to look elsewhere given his efforts for them this season.... but nope, it's a DISGRACE that the Tigers want to move on Reynolds, Packer and Benji who, with the exception of Benji at times, have added no value.

US AGAINST THEM BOYS!

Doesn't sound promising we have a meeting for Thursday, looks like JAC either wants out of HOA or staying in Melbourne until 2022

Did she really say that?

I think she was pretty good - If Lee does half the job, as good as she did, we'll be doing ok.

Thursday is ultimately D-Day for this whole situation. Addo-Carr's management jumped at the 4 year deal offered & thought it was honestly going to be the best deal $$ wise & also the length was just added security, but now there seems to be a few clubs (yes Rabbits) that have come in going we can offer you this much more but only from 2022, this is where the doubt it coming from, all stuff in the media is coming from his management. I have no doubt in my mind what so ever if the deal was revised & money was raised the headlines would change & he will be a Tiger in 2021.
I think he knows how much his reputation would suffer if he decided to stay in Melbourne considering the whole song & dance being made about him waiting to leave for family reasons.

I just don't get the admiration for Marina as our chair - the place was a rabble. The current administration while not perfect - are already miles ahead in my view.

Do you think we will revise our deal in order to get him for 2021?
