I wonder what us chasing Daine Lawrie from Panthers is all about... He plays fullback and that where JAC wants to play... This could be a LM / AD all over again but with a rookie.
I hope not but weird time for this to surface

Irons in the fire.
Just like us investigating a path to Joseph Suaalii .... which now seems to have dried up due to Roosters.
As was said already .... we don’t sit on our hands .... we need a fullback .... there is no guarantees with JAC coming or being success in the spine. There doesn’t seem to be nothing in our juniors which could fill the void in few years.
So yes ..... if our recruiters are keeping options open .... that’s what we need.

Thursday is ultimately D-Day for this whole situation. Addo-Carr's management jumped at the 4 year deal offered & thought it was honestly going to be the best deal $$ wise & also the length was just added security, but now there seems to be a few clubs (yes Rabbits) that have come in going we can offer you this much more but only from 2022, this is where the doubt it coming from, all stuff in the media is coming from his management. I have no doubt in my mind what so ever if the deal was revised & money was raised the headlines would change & he will be a Tiger in 2021.
I think he knows how much his reputation would suffer if he decided to stay in Melbourne considering the whole song & dance being made about him waiting to leave for family reasons.

Do you think we will revise our deal in order to get him for 2021?

Yes but will depend on exactly how much more $$ will be required to get him over the line.
There's also the principle fact he agreed to the original deal & now wants to change it.

If it takes a little extra to get him over the line I have absolutely no problem with that.

The key word being little, as we apparently put a fair deal forward and he agreed to same. Don't like it, play in Melbourne and WT move on to other pieces of the jigsaw that get us closer to completing our puzzle.

He a special player and should be paid accordingly, grand final and origin star certainly help his stocks.

JAC , Chrichton, Tamou , Stefano , Gebbie ,and upgrade the youth , resign McIntyre and seyfarth and I’m very OK with that off season.
If that’s not a huge upgrade on what we trudged our last year I’m not here .

Would be bloody amazing ......

If that happened I could actually start believing again.

Might actually make the 8

Could be reverse psychology ...make JAC think we don't need him and he isn't be all and end all .... or maybe the club thinks that Crichton is a bigger step up ...because that's my opinion ...a few fullbacks come off contract in 2022 from memory .....players of Crichton known ability in a position we don't have a true quality player .....

Up his value and take a year off. Club option for the lost year. That way we aren’t stuck with an expensive, ageing winger.

Love to see this and the kid can play... Panthers won't be too happy losing him if we can pull this off.

Bulldogs friend saying that JAC has told bulldogs he wants to go to them. But can’t due to the signed heads of agreement. That’s why Barrett said it was complicated when interviewed. JAC threatening to go back to Melbourne if tigers won’t tear up the agreement. Not sure how reliable but it makes alot of sense.

Also appears our little heads of agreement might have a bit more legal grunt than many thought it had!

This is what happens when you muck around with a club that is sponsored by a law firm ?

YEE HAAA...fully-sic statement @Spud_Murphy

No mate, I am no rough nut
But I have a daughters name and DOB on each arm (bicep)
And a couple of other tasteful tatts that mean something to me and about my life
No skulls and daggers
It would be nice to be 40 again but age catches up with us all

poor guy gets slammed for posting something that makes much more sense than JAC coming here considering the way this has played out so far.

There's no way JAC is coming. Why would he say he's thinking of staying in Melbourne another year if he has a 4 year offer from us on the table and he is desperately homesick. Would've happened by now. This thread should be closed so people dont waste more time posting on here only to end up bitter in the next month when it doesnt eventuate. Bulldogs are a more desirable club than us because of their history being a club of power - until the COE is done and we make the 8 - we dont really offer anything , even though Doggies finished below us lately there is more optimism there with a roster overhaul , a powerful benefatcor in the Laundy's and the clubs history.

Dude, how the hell do you have -27 rep points?

-25 showing on mine.

Great acquisition in Daine Laurie - Tigers on the front foot for the meeting with JAC’s manager.. I like it !
Shows that we are not sitting on our hands, waiting to be played like we did last summer when fat boy Latrell played us off a break.
I’ll be over the moon if we also sign JAC - I don’t think he’s all that desperate to play fullback - he just wants ‘fullback money’,
This may also be a sign that we have a Plan B if JAC dumps us, we may think we can secure 2 or 3 high quality players for the price of one JAC.
1st strike Daine Laurie. Possibly we are also targeting Saab who is again requesting a release this week (reportedly sick of travelling from Western Sydney to train with the Dragons)... I’m not sure about him but he could blossom in a new environment - definitely addresses our speed envy.
I note mention of Angus Crichton by some posts- I think he was a world beater when at Souths but hasn’t really held that at the Roosters, still a good forward but is on big coin.
All in all I feel a positive vibe from the Laurie acquisition and maybe we’ve been dragged out of the quick sand and JAC may jump onboard now that we don’t look like a bunch of wallflowers.

I have read heaps of rhetoric in regards to JAC....only he and his manager know where Jac will be in 21/22...its all speculation and inuendo at the moment ...take it from some one who knows ...the players future in a club he feels he will be best at for the next amount of years and the money he earns is first and foremost...all the rest of us can speculate, agree.disagree and argue...but until it is officially declared then non of us know any better...
in my honest opinion JAC always wanted to be with the brotherhood I wont change my opinion ,as much as many would love JAC at our club,it is ultimately in his hands and I will say Souths has the upper hand atm..

We have indigenous players at WTs. Both foundation clubs have proud histories of having indigenous players in their ranks. Souths don't have exclusivity on indigenous players in their roster.

unless the contract is in the players favour.......

I think Lee knows what he is doing.

The NRL is a different beast when it comes to contract law and Lee should be well aware of that by now

Maybe it shouldn't be, and that's why there is so many problems.

Restraint of trade?? He has only just signed it.
Are you thinking someone has offered him a better deal, not sure you can break it for that reason, once you've signed and the club who/if they have tried to coerce him to break it would have an issue.
We still don't know what is happening yet anyway, as we are all still in the dark.

You're right we don't know what's happening. Did his manager advise on signing the HOA or did he get legal advice?
Players on big contracts know they have the power to dictate terms on whether they stay or go so if JAC genuinely wants to go to say Souths then it wouldn't make good business sense to enforce the HOA. Why would you want an unhappy player at the club who thinks they've been bent over. Moses is a prime example of a player who didn't want to be here

Just a thought maybe we settle on a 1yr deal with an option to take up full contract Give him a shot at fullback and if he is any good there he will earn more than at Souths you would assume. He may even want to stay.
Definitely makes us better in 21. Gets 12 months to explore options
