His head must be spinning - too many options.

That happened like a year ago. They upgraded him because he thought an origin player should be on more than 300k and rightfully so. Think he was on 440k or something like that this year and next. Still unders though, but that's how Storm does business...

Our initial offer was apparently more than that and Pom thinks we might even offer more so money wise we are head of Melbourne, plus he can come back to Sydney plus he can play fullback

It’s a frustrating time atm, but the other possible scenario is they already know JAC is not coming and signed Laurie instead?

Though I do hope he is coming and we will now have excellent depth.

I get us trying to get JAC particularly if we can get him here for 2021. I find this rush to try and sign other fringe players for 2022 (& even if we can get them here earlier) puzzling particularly when they aren't proven and they could get injured next year etc. We seem to be grabbing whatever we can - not sure why.

Locking them in for a low price if they're any good these days will probably just mean we have to upgrade or they'll walk anyway. We only have about 2 spots left in our Top 30 - next year hopefully a top 8 but we know it will be difficult with the roster we currently have.

Why not keep our powder dry? Hopefully get JAC & we will be in a position of strength for 2022 cap wise and reassess closer to end of 2021. Wise men say.....

I'll trust our recruitment strategy but I do query we are thinking this through clearly.

Surprised that you think signing a talented youngster like Laurie is a bad thing. Surely cheap fast players are a good thing to have on our books

With Josh Addo-Carr’s management tipped to officially tell the Tigers thanks but no thanks for 2021 on Thursday, Mansour may well end up under Michael Maguire.”

Unlikely he'll play NRL next year for us - still unproven.

Again, please place warnings when you quote or link to incompetent morons like Pooper

For someone who supposedly supports us, hooper seems almost desperate to say we have no chance of getting him at every turn

HOOPER WARNING

TIGERS’ PLAN B IN ADDO-CARR CHASE

Speaking of phone calls, interesting to hear Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe gave out-of-favour Penrith winger Josh Mansour a shout last week.

Does this mean Mansour could be headed for Concord? Possibly.

Pascoe knows first hand what it’s like to be left out in the cold by Ivan Cleary.

Seems rubbish. Would be utterly embarrassing if true though as you’ve got the chairman on radio talking up the addo Carr deal and now you’ve got the CEO calling another winger. I don’t believe it, but still would be Peak tigers hierarchy

If Storm have upped there offer to $480k WT'S should come in over the top with $600k to see where JAC is in the fair dinkum department how can anyone use the family card then say I'll wait another 12 mths

Even if we miss JAC I don’t want Mansour.

Mansour has been on a slide for years and he wasn’t that good in the first place. Hard pass. Would be a terrible signing.

Melbourne upping their offer worries me.

If it makes JAC happy for a year, while Souths continue to clear the decks.... he might well stay.

Well it is sounding more like another Mitchell saga and at least we will know by tomorrow but sounding more unlikely now.

Mansour good player but realistically at his age not sure its worth signing on an extended contract as a lifeline for someone that is past his prime rather upgrade current players if they perform in 2021 and keep the salary cap.

Wish the CEO would say nothing at all.

We still need a fullback option for next season and there is not much talent available.

I agree. I don’t like it when people say players only look good cause they’re in a good team but I think that’s true in regards to Mansour. In 2019 he was awful and we already have a short, metre making winger.

He’s old slow and won’t score tries in an average team so as you said hard pass. Plus if the intention is to play JAC at fullback why would we sign Mansour who would never go good at fullback
