Seriously, this forum has either been infiltrated or some people have turned into complete tools. All this 'i had lunch with pascoe' or " i mixed it in the chairmans lounge with important people" just makes you look a complete flog.

Growing problem with the forum, a lot of little hints here and all hot air since clearly some in management don't know what is happening day to day.

It is sad that people got their hopes up because of this nonsense when it was absolutely clear from early on that he didn't want to come here. People are blinded by their love of the club and fail to make sound judgements about what the elite players think. It is too much effort to write a proper analysis of this but we are run by people who don't understand the game they are in as well as the competition. We are played by the media, player managers and opposition clubs. We aren't the only bad club, but we definitely aren't a good one.

My only hope for the next 3 years is the football department's investment in gun juniors, at least it is a clear plan that we are executing.

Last year i was against signing LM because he was not worth anywhere near what we were offering, this year i was completely in agreeance with signing JAC for 600-650k, sadly he feels he can get more money waiting for 2022.I can accept his decision but the old proverb "A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush", injury is always a possibility and he is reliant on his pace to get the big payout. It could all go wrong for him if he is unlucky

Skipped like 9 pages so no idea if this has been posted but Chammas giving Tigers a good rap here. I agree with him too, turns out money is more important than family for JAC ![7BB9852E-9C7D-4817-97BE-459C61842658.jpeg](/assets/uploads/files/1605176893090-7bb9852e-9c7d-4817-97be-459c61842658.jpeg)

This exactly - the club handled this well. It was a smart move. Just like the Harry Grant swap. The disappointment in JAC's decision seems to be clouding the judgement of some who have become accustomed to digging in the boot.

Yes I saw in another article on Facebook the Storm management saying how much they appreciated our professionalism during negotiations - hopefully the media will actually leave us alone this time.

To the guys stating these comments I hope they realize they are meaningless. You can't judge people in those roles based on having a beer with them or meeting them for lunch or Marina Go acting like she was a fan. It's all just your opinions with no reasonable facts to back up that opinion.

Owell who cars there will be other players

Keep buying young talent and we will get there 1 day

I don’t think the club could have done much more to get him here the blokes clearly lying about wanting to get back to Sydney to be with his family so who needs him

Always next year should be our membership motto.

Or “we just couldn’t do much more”

Good decision by the Tigers. Moves motivated by money which result in us losing good young players are not smart. I’ve been banging on about it for a while. We have to grow our own talent. No more big money signings until we are a finals team naturally.

I think we can try and sign big money signings but we have to be smart about using our money. I think though the best way forward for us is as you state. It's going to take longer but I don't see any other realistic option even if we had signed JAC.

The only exception to what I have said is a big money 1,6,7,9 or forward that’s a high end rep level player. I just assume they won’t sign with Wests.

I cant believe we miss out on a test star and some fans think we handled it well. Its a good thing none of us accept mediocracy

I'm fine with how this turned out.

It is confirmed JAC signed a HoA with us to join if Storm released him. It means we had the best and most palatable offer at the time. It means we can attract talent.

Whether or not he's decided to backflip and stay in Melbourne (because they'd upped his deal, or otherwise), or whether he's now treading water waiting for a "better" offer for 2022 is irrelevant in the context of 2021.

For 2021, Tigers put themselves in a position to be the only club that can secure JAC should he obtain a release, then Melbourne have tried to hardball us to make that release. We have set our terms and not budged. We have covered ourselves legally to block out other clubs whilst this current employer deliberated.

If JAC is truly biding his time to join another club in 2022, we'll find out soon enough and then it will show his rationale to request a release on family grounds is hogwash, because he could have just seen out his Melbourne contract in the first place, without the whole malarkey about family concerns. Questionable whether you want a player like that in your side, if he's going to pull Mitch-Moses style sympathy cards to pull out of contracts.

I like that Tigers have refused to deal with Melbourne on their terms. I don't want to return to the old Ivan and pre-Ivan era where we desperately entered into risky deals, many of which have backfired.

E.g. imagine if we release Tommy Talau and he becomes an Origin-level centre, imagine the furore on here.

Consider also that Melbourne were reportedly happy to receive Talau or Nofo as trades for JAC's release. The premiers were willing to take them in trade.

It's a new way of doing deals for Tigers - make a competitive offer, wait a little while, then close the issue. Even with Latrell, it was splashed all around the media but the actual fact of it all is we made a strong offer, we met with Latrell and realised he wasn't serious about joining, and we withdrew our offer.

It might mean we missed out on Latrell and JAC, but in that same period we signed Luciano, Kepoa, Tamou, Stefano, Blore, Kelma Tuilagi... looks now like we have young Daine Laurie too. That's smart cap management - juniors-focused, buying low, up-skilling the player and getting better value. No Packers in that lot, no Josh Reynolds or Moses Mbyes.

Cheers Justin, makes us feel better ??‍♂️

LOL, every failure by the club is somehow a positive with this guy. he must be an employee.

Yeah I am Adam Hartigan

You wish lol, I'm Michael Maguire.

It's likely a result of Madge working with Bellamy but we seem to have a solid, professional relationship with the Storm. The Grant/Momo swap was handled really well IMO.

If it works to our advantage we'd be crazy not to preserve it.

There are lessons, tragedies and complications beyond comprehension experienced by those who follow our team.

Paying my membership to charity next year, sick of throwing good money after bad. Until somebody is accountable for the failing or the club challenges the ineffective NRL salary cap I will just be giving the game a wide berth. Call it sooking but I’d rather call it being a realist, we’re a total dumpster fire.

Sooking, that should help the club.

It seems to be the chairmans tactic, sooking that we have no blues reps.
Very disapointing day mate.

Judging by the highlights reel Diane Laurie looks like he has the potential to be the most dynamic player in the game! ??

So you meet him on day 1 JAC watch and ask him if he wants to be at the club. Is it that complicated?

He obviously told the club he wanted to be here, he signed something that said that, he then changed his mind. He had people get in his ear.

Well they had him agreeing to next year but couldnt get it over the line. A good club would have nailed it.
