I usually try to be nice but it literally blows my mind that some people can't see the direction the club is heading. We have literally signed most of the ousltstanding young talent coming up in both qld and nsw. We are recruiting youth not journey man. We are throwing our hat in the ring for some of the most dynamic young players in the game.
These have not happened for us in 10 years.

Stop thinking because we try and don't get its a failure. You can't force someone to play here but we are having a real shake.

The young talent is great - but guess what, they are unproven and just potential at this time.

And guess what, we have been a 'potential' side for too long. We keep waiting for this so called potential to be met, but it never does.

Understand that it's this frustration that is leading to this reaction.

We placed great offers to LM and JAC (both more than they got) and couldn't land them - so what does it say about star players perception of our club?

It says exactly what we know we are not a destination club. So how do you change that? New coach, tried that, new staff, tried that, new management tried that, new sponsors, tried that, new training set up, trying that.

So what's the answer all you amazing tacticians have, what's the answer? You all love a whinge find solutions. How would you have gotten jac over the line.

Players aren't coming here because of the coach and yet apparently we've offered him a 2 year extension as a reward for going even further backwards. Craig Fitzgibbon is highly regarded and players will respond to him so I'd be looking at him for 2022 if not sooner

You look at Fitzgibbon and we'll stick with Madge for 3 years.

Good plan to pay Madge for 3 years and not be here - Thought we were trying to get away from doing things like that.

Has he signed an extension yet?

Buzz Rothfield warning
“ The reason for Josh Addo-Carr’s backflip on quitting Melbourne Storm was about two things – money and the fact he didn’t want to play for the Wests Tigers.
Storm agreed to upgrade the final year of his contract by an extra $140,000 to bring him into line with the NRL’s highest-paid wingers. He is now on what he could have earned if he’d played for the Wests Tigers.
Deep down, the Blues winger didn’t want to play under Michael Maguire at Wests.
He could only get out of the deal by staying at the Storm and postponing the move back to Sydney.
When he eventually returns in 2022, it will be at the South Sydney Rabbitohs or the Canterbury Bulldogs.”

Have another drink Buzz and then tell us what we don't know.

Hate when paper hacks don't know when to retire - Buzz should have retired 42 years ago.

DT sometimes treats us unfairly but in this case it’s bang on. We’re a broken outfit and need drastic change. Period.

Heard Hooper on the radio today and he wasn’t giving it to us, he just sounded sad. We’re now at the point of pity.

Why neg rep the guy ....we are a pity case ...I can see a time in the future when we have issues spending our minimum cap amount

Neg rep me all you like I’m not going to quietly see this club killed off by incompetence, a few Pascoe apologists don’t bother me a bit.

Just annoys me mate ...too many people want to blame the press , blame the NRL , blame the players ,blame negative fans ,...yet in reality the club is at fault and has been at fault EVERY step of the way

Like the latest pressa about JAC ..covering their butts ...oh we did get him to sign a COA .....no mention whether we are still chasing him

The definition of insanity mate, repeating the same processes and expecting a different outcome. Roberts will fit right in.

Seems plausible he backflipped bc he didn't want to be under Madge - maybe when he had enough time to think about it and weigh up his options - bc we didn't do a player swap with the Storm and it dragged - he spoke to some players or when other clubs got in his ear - they convinced him (or whatever bc we wont really know)....

BUT Madge seems to have a stigma whether we like it or not. He won't suit everyone which is a problem when we don't have a lot of choice.

Think the policy he's going with Juniors is the best way forward - if he lands a big name who doesn't mind his shtick then that would change things too - just need one big name to come, then hopefully a few will follow.

Seriously this douche bag has to write it up like this?? Honestly what have we ever done to this prick to deserve this kind of negative treatment all the time?

It's fake journalism and it's disgusting normally this type of disguised hatred would backfire on the psycopath journalist but he's been getting away with it for many years, but one day it will backfire on him very strongly like a ton of bricks.

I wouldn't worry too much. He's probably a six pack deep by the time he produces most of his written diarrhoea. He really needs to move over to woman's day or OK magazine

Gee I come home from work, get on the forum to see whats happening and low and behold....Madge has to go,we dont sign big name players, we are a bottom 8 team and on it goes....
I reckon if most of you step back and look at the fiasco with JAC,he LEFT HERE ON BAD TERMS,he was never going to come back to a club he loved that spat in his face unless it was for a heap more money that anyone else was paying...he got a great pay rise from Melb by using the compassionate grounds crap..
While I mention Madge and Carlton Dry loves bagging him,he is investing in juniors something we have let slide for a long time,we kept players and bought players with big price tags because our juniors left for greener pastures...previous coaches and admins fault not Madges..If the players cant handle a stern physical coach then they should join the womens team, the NRL is hard and tough,to compete you have to be hard and tough...
Madge as far as most players like him and his style, its the dummy spitters that cant handle his style that want to tell everyone he has lost the dressing room...YET TO BE PROVEN...

Well after all this I hope we’re not pursuing him for 2022 and beyond. The last thing we need is another player looking for a big payday based on previous performances.

No thanks.

To this day I don't understand anyone on this forum taking Rothfield or Hooper at all seriously. This is a football forum. Rothfield and Hooper are entertainment fiction writers. That is what they get paid for. They take an element of newsworthy truth (so that they are relevant on the day) and build a fantasy story around that. How often are their stories true? See it for what it is and don't get your blood pressure up. I saw that article earlier on the internet and just kept scrolling.

If we are truly a development club we will promote young players especially fast young backs into the squad and team. Mansour will be moved on from the Panthers because there is a much faster and taller back ready to replace him. The Panthers were exposed by the Storm for lack of pace on their wings during the GF. The game has changed and having genuine pace on the wings is a necessity as it adds a new dimension to the attack. We saw that with JAC in SOO. Maguire now needs to back youth and show the faith in them that the WTs has shown in him through the extension.

JAC just proving he's a complete liar. As good as he is, he's just another in the long line to take the pi55 out of the club. Complete knob. Where's a tennis ball when you need one?

The off-season is so young but already many Pea Heart supporters are being exposed.

Why bother complaining so much when it makes zero difference in the end.

I don't get it, makes no sense to stress over this stuff, especially media articles that nobody cares about except WT's supporters.

Kind of reminds me of Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon atm - reality and the truth are casualties of their sociopathic agendas.

They take it seriously when it fits with their preconceived ideas about the club. It's called confirmation bias.

The reality is that JAC didn't come here because of the money. He agreed to terms and then other clubs got in his manager's ear and told him they could do a better deal, but for 2022 onward. JAC got an upgrade from the Storm for next year and is now waiting for his big payday the following season. It was always about the money.

But Buzz has an agenda against the WT - we all know that. So he claims JAC didn't come for two reasons - money and Madge. But, if he didn't want to play under Madge, then why did he sign the HOA in the first place ? It doesn't make sense.

In this case, I think that it is safest to go with Occam's razor (or the law of parsimony); that is: something that is explained by fewer principles is needlessly explained by more; or, the simplest explanation is usually the best.

The simplest explanation is the money. Buzz unnecessarily added the bit about Madge in order to put the buts in (yet again).

**If you can't see that JAC never wanted to come here....**

Left once before without giving us a chance to negotiate.

Has a soft spot for the Tigers / his family support tigers. That's why he left.

Could sign for 2022 if he wanted.

Wants more money / wants to play FB - were all on offer.

Want's to come to Sydney to support his family.

Madge has been here for two years - since before talks began.

Played "BIG TIME" - has upped his payments, filled in the gap year nicely, 2022 will join his bros.

Signs with Souffs. Mission accomplished.

Has anyone read Rothfield's latest piece concerning JAC's decision to remain with Melbourne? Apparently it is now all about our coach's failings! Who would want to play under Maguire?? What a total crock of .... ! I for one am totally and heartily sick of the media denigration of WT Club. The undermining is relentless. Another Foxtel cancellation will occur today ( after more than 20 years subscription ). Others should consider the same action. Profit is the only thing they understand is hit them where it hurts . How many of their employed journalists understand the pain of unemployment.
