Buzz Rothfield warning
“ The reason for Josh Addo-Carr’s backflip on quitting Melbourne Storm was about two things – money and the fact he didn’t want to play for the Wests Tigers.
Storm agreed to upgrade the final year of his contract by an extra $140,000 to bring him into line with the NRL’s highest-paid wingers. He is now on what he could have earned if he’d played for the Wests Tigers.
Deep down, the Blues winger didn’t want to play under Michael Maguire at Wests.
He could only get out of the deal by staying at the Storm and postponing the move back to Sydney.
When he eventually returns in 2022, it will be at the South Sydney Rabbitohs or the Canterbury Bulldogs.”

Yeah stuff my family

I don't think JAC is that concerned about your family.

JAC isn’t even concerned about his own family.

It’s ok , he is concerned about mine

Seriously this douche bag has to write it up like this?? Honestly what have we ever done to this prick to deserve this kind of negative treatment all the time?

Maria Go had a few digs at the old piss pot.

Ancient history! She’s not even here anymore, why is the drunk still holding a grudge against people that weren’t even here when she was in charge? If you ask me he seems to have an agenda against Madge for some reason.

Unfortunately Grubfield is right but he excludes that Fox would come for 800k. Players want overs to play with us. Our management need to wake up and stop chasing top line players until we build a team from within. We will lose juniors that want a better club or more money to stay but over time it’s the only way.

Some of them were.

I usually try to be nice but it literally blows my mind that some people can't see the direction the club is heading. We have literally signed most of the ousltstanding young talent coming up in both qld and nsw. We are recruiting youth not journey man. We are throwing our hat in the ring for some of the most dynamic young players in the game.
These have not happened for us in 10 years.

Stop thinking because we try and don't get its a failure. You can't force someone to play here but we are having a real shake.

The young talent is great - but guess what, they are unproven and just potential at this time.

And guess what, we have been a 'potential' side for too long. We keep waiting for this so called potential to be met, but it never does.

Understand that it's this frustration that is leading to this reaction.

We placed great offers to LM and JAC (both more than they got) and couldn't land them - so what does it say about star players perception of our club?

It says exactly what we know we are not a destination club. So how do you change that? New coach, tried that, new staff, tried that, new management tried that, new sponsors, tried that, new training set up, trying that.

So what's the answer all you amazing tacticians have, what's the answer? You all love a whinge find solutions. How would you have gotten jac over the line.

Players aren't coming here because of the coach and yet apparently we've offered him a 2 year extension as a reward for going even further backwards. Craig Fitzgibbon is highly regarded and players will respond to him so I'd be looking at him for 2022 if not sooner

You look at Fitzgibbon and we'll stick with Madge for 3 years.

Good plan to pay Madge for 3 years and not be here - Thought we were trying to get away from doing things like that.

No

As usual Grubfield is not right. So why say, his right this time.

JAC signed agreement to play here, if Storm allowed him, knowing Madge was the coach. Storm says No, JAC has no choice. Why give someone like Grubfield a leg up. Its just pure spite with Grubfield, follows the Sharks, say no more.

Agree we should be building a team from within, and it appears , at least there we have alot of talent comming through.

Your constant critisism of Madge is at least consistent. i honestly cant agree with you when you state "Players aren't coming here because of the coach".It is quite likely that there are many factors at play not just your whipping boy

I have no doubt there is. Maguire lost the playing group at Souths and got sacked then said when he got signed here he'd learnt from his mistakes and yet lost the playing group this year. I think he's a poor man manager and his coaching abilities are now questionable considering we went backwards.
If we finish in the top 8 next year I'll happily start a post and admit I was wrong. ?‍♂️
