JACK COGGER

I have been pretty interested in the performance of jack cogger who is playing for the knights first grade.

jack is a son of trever cogger,a magpie legend , who was one of my favourite wests players during some bleak times at wests.

jack throws a nice pass and links his backline well.
if he stays in first grade he will certainly get some tackling practise.
i wish him well.

Jack's a bit like the rest of the Knight's of 2016 no idea of a good tackling technique, can't carry players like that in the modern game.

I am an old wests supporter and loved Trevor Cogger, but Jack is way out of his depth in first grade, he is being shown up in both defence and attack.
Nathan Cleary on the other hand who is only 18 shows more poise and better defence than our halves.

Why is this in player contracts? Is someone actually suggesting we sign him? From what I've seen he seems NSW Cup standard.

I've assumed the contracts bit related to our players and the discussion bit was for players we could/might/should sign. I would have thought shooting the breeze on a player would be in NRL. But I defer to the master here.

Brock Lamb looked far superior in his first grade games, in comparison.
Brock reminds me a lot of Mitchell Pearce, playing wise.
Seemed to settle right in.

Cogger on the other hand looks like a scared puppy out there and is constantly walked all over.
Weak as.

Ive seen alot Jack coming through and think he is very talented, he is playing NRL before his time with alot of other guys also not ready .
Brock is a year older and is also very talented, both a couple years away for me.
Both have been ahead of Cleary in the pecking order until now. I rate them above Cleary as well.
I'm the only person I know who is not a fan of Cleary, im probably wrong, call them how you see them
I expect all 3 to be 100 plus gamers

Correct me if I'm wrong but Jack and Brock have been in the minds of selectors for a few years now.
Cleary on the other hand only shot into the spotlight last year with a very strong holden cup campaign.

Selectors / experts / media personalities I mean

Always reasonably highly rated, but behind those 2 and Croker.
Jumped the queue with a cracking year this year.

That said that Penrith NYC side is hot, and it is probably a dream come true for a half.

Usually in junior rep teams, it is wise to have a partnership between the 6 & 7.

NSW does have some great depth born in '97: Cleary, Lamb, Cogger, Dargan, Doolan…

I am also an old Wests fan and loved watching his Father play.

Jack has been bought in way too early but you could say that for a number of kids in the Newcastle side. As the season wears on Newcastle will cop plenty of floggings as these talented kids are not use to the week to week grind of NRL and playing against bigger bodies.

Great to see the sons of former great players I grow up watching following in their Father's footsteps.

I suppose Jack playing for Newcastle is like Pearce playing for Easts, both want to make their own legacies out of the shadows of their famous Fathers at the same club.

I think Sironen would benefit from a change of clubs and not carry the burden of his Father's Balmain legacy.

Great to see a new generation of talented kids coming through the ranks to take the place of Slater/Cronk/Smith/JT/Parker/Marshall/Farah etc. The game is in good hands.

Yes, Mitchell Pearce has a wonderful legacy
