St George star Jack De Belin will find out shortly whether he will be charged after a 19-year-old woman alleged she was sexually assaulted by two NRL players.

The 27-year-old lock has been accused of sexually assaulting the young woman after a night out in Wollongong, south of Sydney, at an establishment on Crown Street at the weekend.

The alleged victim told police she got into a Pedi Cab with De Belin and another lower grade player under the impression they were going to another nightspot.

She alleges the duo then told her they needed to go to an apartment to get changed so she went upstairs to use the bathroom.

The 19-year-old allegedly came back to find the two men naked and told police this is when she was assaulted.

She got medical treatment at a local hospital after telling a girlfriend what had happened.

De Belin has told club officials he is innocent and denies any kind of assault.

The 27-year-old has not yet spoken to police.

The Origin player has also told his partner, who is 20 weeks pregnant, but is yet to tell his parents.

Former Dragons coach and player Craig Young started making enquiries about the allegations three days ago.

De Belin is currently at Wollongong Police Station and could be charged this evening.

9News does not suggest De Belin is guilty, only that an investigation is taking place.

Never ends eh?

NRL players and sexual assaults have gone hand in hand for as long as I can remember.

I've heard some messed up stories about lower graders, has beens and never wazzas from Newcastle for years.

Damm epidemic.

Ive seen a little of Jack DeBelin down in Wollongong. just a knock around guy who helps out his tradie dad. Also seen him in many a tv interview.

He is a straight up LAD but if you asked me to chose between him and Musgrave as to who you would be shocked if they were charged with something like this im picking Jack.

Two sides to the story. Being charged doesn’t mean you’re guilty.

Why a 19 year old woman went back to a hotel room with two, 28 year old footy players has me dumbfounded.
Never the less it isn’t a good look and am totally against it.

:bash Another one bites the dust….....

I swear that by the start of next season a person from every club would have been charges with something or another

Imbecilic comment.

I guess that's why it's called "The Off Season".

Bad run of it this year, why so many alleged sexual or domestic assaults? Not even just nuffies either - Walker, Hayne, De Bellend, Musgrove.

tall poppy syndrome?

Yeah poor buggers, should be able to assault whomever they want in peace…

Happens every year, we just don't hear about a lot of it.

I've heard stories about Sonny Bill back in the day (not the incidents in the news) to nightingale etc clubs keep it hush hush

I am not taking the sides of the players in any way , shape or form but we need to throw the book at both parties if they have done wrong

If the accused or the accuser is obviously lying or gets caught in the web of deceit they need to feel the full face of the law
