The best teams have players like this for backup. Not quite there but can do a job with better players around them. Nico hynes at the storm douehi when at south’s burton at the riff are prime examples. And I assure everyone would be swooning over liddle if he was in those teams

He's valuable to us atm as a viable trade. He's sought after so we can move him, if he's keen to move. He's a liability in defence and he's not an 80 min player no matter how much madge has pushed him. We can use simpkin for 50-60 mins and peach can cover the rest. If we swap him for another hooker, e g, hodgo, then Jake can learn further. Jake is our future, liddle is a speedbump

The problem with the tigers and why we haven’t played finals in so long as that we keep mediocre players and hope one day they fulfil their potential. I was a liddle fan. He had no excuses in 2021 and had a terrible year. I thought Simpkin didn’t do enough either but he is young and could either flop or be a gun. Why do we persist with players that flop with the hope that one day ten years later they will be good.

Liddle is in a similar situation to Brooks. No need to change until someone else (either within or outside team) comes into our top 30 squad and proves they are a better fit in that position.

Liddle is in the Cook type model, fast and usually good service from dummy half. Not the Cameron Smith type player, tempo and game controller. Please people compare apples with apples.
I believe as stated before his passing and timing will improve this year, as he gets more used to his guns. If Madge learns how to use his bench more effectively?!?!?!

There have been cruel injuries. Im not ready to write him off yet.

This is a critical season though.

Remember... Not many Hookers play effectively for 80 mins.

That’s why I find it hard to get a true gauge on his potential because we know he has talent.
I would like to see our whole spine, including the 13 have 30 games together.
Hopefully Madge adopts a pick and stick approach for the spine, regardless of their form. And for the next ‘Wild Wests leadership dinner’ make it the Spine dinner.
Let’s get some commitment from the spine to drag the team into the finals.
Then let’s talk about how good or bad Liddle is?

I want Madge to experiment and adapt as required. For instance I don't think a Liddle/Peachey dummy half combination is good enough. I think Peachey will be required as a ball playing lock or to slot into an edge at times. I think we need Simpkin or another hooker on the bench.

Liddle couldn't give us consistent good quality footy over 40 minute slots at best last season.

Brooks/Hastings/Doueihi need to fight it out for halves spots.

Neither was cook but developed into one behind a big effective pack. Liddle hasn’t had such a luxury!
