Jacob Liddle

I read in today's RLW that the tigers have signed Australian school boys hooker Jacob Liddle as the long term successor to Robbie farah's hooking crown, apparently warren McDonnell beat a host of other clubs for his signature, a classy dummy half from the central coast and one to keep an eye on !

Cherrington is first in line to the throne, but he may also get impatient as I would imagine Farah will go around for another three to four years. Its like being back up to the Australian wicket keeper, sometimes you just never get that chance and the guy behind you ends up with the gig

Going by the video he seems to be of a similar style player to Robbie.
Looks bloody quick too.

He'd be 17 or 18
Guessing he will be here next year, Sirro jnr jnr is already been training with the 20's
I see there is an Ashleigh NISBET from St Gregs in the Aus schoolboys squad.
Any info on him??

how old is this kid, and will he be here next year. also does cherrington still able to play u20s next year.

This is Cherrington's last Year in 20's …he will be part of the fulltime squad for the next 2 seasons at least and will take over the No 9 in state cup next year one would think...Liddle is just a kid..17 or 18...

I get the feeling our junior and u20 programs are highly regarded and a lot of kids want to get in the system, hopping our coaches will turn them into NRL standard players.

I guess the much maligned Warren Mac and of course Tim Sheens who started all this deserve much of the credit, along with some very good coaches.

You sure get a lot more satisfaction when a Brooks comes through your system rather than just pulling out the cheque book and going into the market place. Okay a lot of the kids we are developing will end up starring at other clubs just because we cant offer them the oppertunities, but the club has done well

What happened to James Luff? I remember he was signed from the bush to be the long term successor to Farah too and he has had very few starts in NYC. He played a couple of NSW Cup matches last year and was good.

He had a great tackling technique…rated him.

Is he better than Cherrington?

not even close IMO.

Mind you i have a massive wrap on Cherrington and have since his SG Ball days.

I actually thought of the hookers going into the carnival that Wheelhouse was the best of them, who has been the Balmain SG ball hooker the past 2 seasons,he missed the carnival and from all reports Liddle was very good.

We could again have an embarrassment of riches in the 20's.

Was good to see Bayley get an Aus schoolboys spot as well. Must admit I didnt think he would make the side.

Jack Coggar can really play, he is still young but is some footballer, I hope the Wests family connection gets him here

Jack Cogger was identified as a talent a couple of years ago especially with the link to the Magpies, I sought of recall that the Knights might have had first dibs on him as he was from the Central Coast.
