Got manhandled 2 or 3 times and lifted /driven backwards.
Needs a chat with some other lightweight no.1’s on how to combat this.

Did really well today and as expected, Manly really targeted him, and even though he made a couple of mistakes it didn't look like it shook his confidence.

For the most part he looked pretty good on debut.

I liked what he did after dropping the ball he admonished himself then went and dived on the loose ball.

Very impressed with him. He wasn't overwhelmed by any means, was where he needed to be and really had a go. Most carries in the game I think.

He's a decent height for fullback, so hopefully can put on a bit of size without compromising speed.

I was excited by what I'd read here and wasn't disappointed. Stoked. 😁

I like Bula as a player and would certainly like to see him in our top 13 somewhere. My question is at this stage if his career what can he possibly do better as a fullback than Charlie Staines ?
He should first prove himself as an NRL regular as a winger in my opinion.

Thought he was okay, definite potential there.

I personally think if Staines was fullback we win that game, his errors were costly. That said, Staines is probably not the long term answer and this kid might be.

He is special although very raw.

You don’t do what he did when he didn’t get tackled in goal unless you have an abundance of talent. You also don’t make the mistakes he did unless you are very raw.

I was going to say in another thread Staines was probably the best option for us out there but they picked this kid because he might come good over the next couple of years.

Considering he has played almost zero rugby league this year and is very inexperienced, he had a pretty good game.

Once he puts on a bit of size, he will be better for it.

Hope he stays injury free and improves over the season.
