Jahream Bula #269

Finally some common sense on this thread

The amount of people who are 'fine' with Bula leaving because a kid looked solid in a reserve grade trial is nuts

We are a much better team with Bula in it. Everyone getting excited over potential when we've already got a talented fullback.

Most people just upset he's a Moses client me thinks
That’s good in theory, but it’s not as easy as saying just keep him as every player has a price limit.
If he stays for a fair and reasonable price that is great, but we cannot pay any player, let alone a player who has only proven to have a couple of standout games each season a much bigger contract than what we think he is worth.
IF Bula decides to leave, there is currently a few good options that could be signed to replace him.

"Good options" will require us to pay overs

If you want to play finals you don’t keep revolving your best players for kids.

Like cmon people.

Attard and Brookes are miles off from where Bula is, they need a few years to develop and maybe get an opportunity at NRL.

If Bula leaves it easily sets us back years.
Some people cannot see that we cannot endlessly revolve our best players with a hope that what is left is adequate and cheaper, sadly, the opposite is true - we end up withplayers no one wants -> Masonses, Heaths, Sayfarths, Sukkars.....

Small correction we end up putting those players into a position they shouldn’t be in. Then judge them as NRL starters because of it.

That’s due to bad roster management and decisions.

Have no issue with Mason & Seyfarth as depth players in the squad.

Trey fuller smokes it every time he plays and hes even smaller
There wasn't all that much of Brett Hodgson and he got rag dolled occasionally (Tallis the Raging Bull comes to mind) but the bottom line is if you are fast enough and elusive enough they won't get hold of you to be able to do it.

I would say that Hodgson and Fuller are/were around the same height and playing weight.

I thought Phoenix looked very small on the weekend. Does he have another growth spurt in him

Billion %. We need Bula, it will go a long way to the future success of the club if he re-signs.

Attard shows promise but I get worried when all the great highlights I have seen have been at club footy and very little at rep level. Brooks is a half-5/8 that has been pushed into fullback, he started off well in Ball against the weaker teams and then really struggled against the better kids towards the back end of the season. Riley Oitmann is another great kid we have but they all need a heap time.
