Jahream Bula #269

He's a religious kid. Hardly think the dogs or others would be a better option... we seem to be one of the better fits out there in that respect.

But yes, he played it very straight-faced.

The trainers could at least change the music - plenty of pump songs without swearing out there. That was a concerning comment.
Is he anymore religious than the rest of them with their performative on field prayer at the end of games?

Appart from paper bags.

He genuinely wont earn more at any other club other than PNG.

I think he stays
hope he stays, he has huge potential and seems like a good person.

Moving away from support networks if he has children etc would be a big ask. If he gets a better deal elsewhere then good luck to him, show goes on

I don't think it's performative for him mate, nor most of the guys. If you watch the interview, you can see how deep his belief is.
It’s not mutually exclusive. I’m not doubting that their beliefs are genuine.I just think there’s also a bit of a performative element when it’s done out on the field in front of cameras. A bit “hey look at us, we’re such good guys”. Keep that stuff behind closed doors imo.

Yeah, fair call but I think it's more because they combine the two teams. Can't do that in the sheds.

Curious when does he have to take up the option? May? Will attard be good to go next year?
The club also has the choice to take up the option. Most seem to have forgotten that. There could be an element of who blinks first. But it’s getting annoying how the narrative is that it’s all on him because it isn’t.

Its probably the only chance they get to do it with mates from the opposition...

Gave nothing away , seems grounded type of young man .
Never praised club or coach which is fine but I feel , he goes to best deal .
Wants a baby , wants a house , got family in Sydney , church in Sydney , so I think he stays in Sydney but will go to the best paying deal , Gould offering Tracey a new deal is fine it could be 2 years and 400 k per year , makes Tracey look elsewhere and opens up a spot for Bulla , wife already at the dogs , I think he goes dogs and links up with his grubby mate Galvin

So effectively he doesn't care about playing for the Tigers...

Should fill us all with such confidence he wants to be here lol

Having listened to the podcast in full, I dont know how people are drawing conclusions like "he doesnt care about the tigers". Nothing was said to suggest this.

Terrell spoke said they wont talk about the contract scenario, but he and Tiny want him to stay. That the whole playing group would be upset if he left. Bula said he appreciated it.

Bula talked about the importance of faith and he goes to church with Pole. His motivation is being able to provide for his young family and buy a house.

There were references to uncomfortable situations and how the music being played in the gym doesnt align with his faith.

The poddy didnt give me any clarity on the contract scenario, but definitely highlighted how religious he is.

Well he's not worth what he wants. Not yet anyway. I hope Tigers don't pay overs for him.
He’s coming into his prime age so this will likely be his biggest deal in his career, it makes sense that his manager will squeeze the most out of it.

Whether it’s value depends if he’s at his ceiling (pretty reliable first grade fullback), or whether he’s got other levels to go to.

Personally I think he’s got plenty of improvement and we need to pay the man.

Disagree mate. Our society needs to see faith in practice. A group of young men coming together after the game to give thanks and praise sets a wonderful example. That prayer isnt about them its about God
