Jahream Bula #269

Has he signed or is he playing out of his skin (by this I mean he is trying extra hard lately) to show the Dogs that he is worth more than the low ball offer that they have most likely put on the table.

Yeah, yeah, the Dogs have put a contract extension on the table for him but is it a serious attempt to re-sign him or is it an attempt to resign him. ie: an offer that is going to make him look and go elsewhere.

For all we know, Gus may not have even met him yet. 🤣

If he feels like its a higher calling it wont matter mate.. personally, I probably wouldnt do it with a family. If I was by myself then thats different.
You been there?
The place is a toilet….a crime ridden toilet.
I’d want $1.2M at a min and a house in a gated community.

The other consideration might be they sign Tracy as a centre (he’s played there at the Sharks from memory) and still has the fullback spot open for Bula.

Gould doing a Gould. Announces that they have offered Tracy a contract to suggest they are satisfied with their FB. Can almost guarantee that he hasn't offered a 30 year old Tracey a deal that will not make him consider his offers elsewhere and the meantime Gould will be going after the player he really wants.

Yes, that is another possible consideration.

Either way, whether Tracey stays or whether he goes it would appear to me at least, that the Dogs are doing whatever they can to low ball Tracey or at the very least avoid paying him anywhere near fullback money.

Nah, but if I was early 20s without a family, for $1mill a year (tax free) id give it a go. Even if it didn't work out id be $1mill in hand.
Last year my female collegue was working on a deal with one of the big mining companies out of PNG, when it came time for a few of them to go over, the company wouldnt let her.

Bula's former agent Liam Ayoub off to PNG Chiefs as head of recruitment.
Likely this means Bula is off to PNG... PNG can offer tax free 1m easily and he would be someone they would want.
The more i think about it we should probably just sign Sua Fa'alogo or Joey Manu. As a destination club, we could probably get away with paying them 250-300k per season.
Heck, while your going big. Grab Reece Walsh for 150k and throw in Carrigan for 200k. ...

Sure, I would love to swap Bula for Faalogo but were not talking anything under 700k.

Yeah this is true …meanwhile the Tigers can’t move on guys like Matamua, Tumeth and Feledy early …
Isn't Feledy playing for Manly now?

I mean we couldn't move them on early. Nor could we move on Bird that easily.

Heck coaches should own their signings. It's always a risk but when you buy a player and it's just a flop, it's on them. (unless ofcourse the board/GM/recruitment overrule them).

Matamua showed potential initially, no idea why he just tanked. But both Matamua and Tumeth were min contracts I understand... Risk on a cheapie is different.

Well if bula leaves , here’s a tip , attard will not replace him , he is very poor , is a very light weight, his defence is very poor , no wonder the panthers let him walk
