Its easy to say that, but you are overlooking the fact the roosters have Uncle Nick, long term success and have a member ownership model. Our owners operate on a debenture model, we've had no success in 15 years and we forced out our own Uncle Nick (even if it was only for another 2 years).

Upside? I'd question that at the moment. Can Bula ballplay? Can Bula create something out of nothing? Can Bula singlehandedly win a game?
Who does that? Maybe Reece Walsh? The young Melbourne FB?
They can also lose you a game.

The debate was about Drinkwater and Bula and which has the greatest upside. I contend, that, at the moment Drinkwater is able to do the three things I mentioned, and therefore, has the greater upside. And, yes, Walsh and Faolongo can do that, along with Ponga.
He's scored in 3 of our 4 matches. In the match we lost, he didnt score, but still worked hard.
Knights - 2 tries, 1 assist
Eels - 1 try
Warriors - 1 try, 1 assist
Souths - 18 runs for 185m, 74 pcm, 1 missed tackle, 0 errors
Cowboys - 2 assists
He's played a pivotal part in our success this year and we are only 4 games in.
Its his first season in what appears to be more of a winning team.

Bula won't win you a game on his own. But he also won't lose it, unlike Drinkwater who will do his best turnstile impression.

I'm not disputing Jahream's contribution to the side or his form last week in particular. He was good with ball in hand and, as usual, under the high ball. The question was about comparitive upside and I'd still put Drinkwater in front, in terms of his ability to change a game.

Ha, I agree Drinkwater can be feeble in defense and can drop the occasional bomb. Not sure if he's lost a game on his own but he's certainly won a few games for the Cowboys.

Drinkwater has the ability to lose a game as much as win one.
I think you can win with an x-factor guy or a more steady fullback (like JB) if the team is playing as a unit, something we are seeing right now.

He has the ability to make mistakes, yes like all good players. I guess, when I talk upside, I'm thinking of an ability to instigate a win with attacking flair. But again, it could be interpreted as all round potential to change a game for the better. At the moment, I put Drinkwater in front. Just my opinion!
I agree Drinky has more money plays, but when you roll the dice sometimes you lose.
It’s a trade-off and I suspect Benji likes Bula’s reliability while he’s trying to fix other issues with our attack.

TBF I don't see what else the Tigers can do to retain him.
