Gus had 2 motives, get him to the dogs or get us to pay more for him and screw our cap. He would be panicking about the fact his team is sliding and we are on the up. He got the coach we wanted and our once in a generation (according to him) half. Both are underperforming.

What would be the beef Gould has with the Tigers only, for him to be trying to do this all the time? There are plenty of even better players in the other 15 teams that he can go out and poach.

I will say this . If Bula does end up at Belmore ,Burton is definitely playing 6 for the bears .

He’s tall, fit, fast, a very dangerous ball runner, a strong defender, has the added benefit of a kicking game and would only need to brush up on his positioning and catching high balls under pressure.

I just don't get why Bula would want to go to the Dogs. He seems happy at the Tigers, he has a mortgage on the fullback spot, the team is on the up. We are obviously offering him good money. It's weird.

It is weird and by all accounts he is a nice, smart and humble guy. The the kind of bloke who I thought would be more about loyalty than money. I can’t fathom why he is connected to, and is being coerced by, such an unscrupulous player manager as Moses. Just sign the bloody extension, you have it good here Jahream and it’s only going to get better!

Burton as a fullback , I haven’t ever heard of it or know if he has played any footy in that position but he could be very good , he is big , runs hard , can tackle , has a huge kick , those kicks could save him on kick return runs he just gets the pill and sends it 70 mtr back down the other end giving us another crack at opposition in there 20/30 , Bulla replacement for couple years till one of our young guys step up , problem is he would want probably 800/900 k , I would go Kennedy for half the money and he can do the job ok , not quiet bulla but not far off at this point

Also don’t think he fits with AD in the halves, same players in a way

Burtons best days were at centre although I think he would make a great lock

If T. May doesn’t sign I would go for him to play lock and shift Twal into fwd

Good mate . It’s just not where he wants to play. My issue though is the defensive aspect . You have to be an aerobic specimen in modern footy . And to that end I’m not sure . Like when AD was fullback , toward the backend of games he just became ineffectual because his tank was empty. Not because he was unfit or whatever , he just wasn’t AFL player aerobic fit. Which the modern fullback has to be . So all that is to say , his offseason workload would be hectic . Plenty of broncos and never ending agility tests . I’m not sure his body is up for that , or it would waste all his strengths like AD. Pushing through contact , exposing edges etc.

Many years of poor abysmal leadership makes us an easy target,we have had at least 10 years of folding when pressure is applied.As an ex poker player i would love to see players like our owners sitting at the table,my 2-7 offsuit would make them fold every time.

Its more about the fact we were both very ordinary 5 years ago, both started on a rebuild, he went a certain direction with Ciraldo and Kikau, Burton, Critta basically the cream of the Panthers coaches and team and we nabbed Korisau & Luai (the cream) and Turuva still very much a rookie and Staines NSW cup level. Also get truckloads of money from the CB club. Things looked good for the Dogs until the middle of last season and now for reasons nobody can put their finger on (screwing the team dynamic) they are no longer world beaters and their neighbours who had to dine on overpaid scraps from other rosters and their own owners are suddenly out performing them. It must be very embarrassing for a bloke that thinks he is smarter and better than everyone else. So he is emotionally invested in making sure that the Bulldogs are in a better position than we are as we are their only real direct comparison.

Gotta be going for either one of the Fletcher boys from Newcastle. Both will be gun fullbacks. Hunt available for season 28, so timeline aligns. Wouldn't mind a talented wild man at the back playing physical. Superb under the high ball.

Their second row forward, Jermaine McEwan, is a real prospect and the club should be chasing him.

Yep, unless he has our blessing, we'd have enough ammo to take down the dogs for anti-tampering. The comments from Gould on air alone, after he had warnings on galvin, are enough to run with.
