Jahrome Hughes

If they land Hughes. *cough cough unlikely*.
What do you do. Do you leave Doueihi in fullback and Hughes in the halves or in fullback with Doueihi in the halves. Unpopular opinion I reckon Doueihi in the halves. He carved up against Parra in the halves. Doueihi just doesn't add threat at fullback like top fullbacks like turbo or Teddy but he is a smart ball player so I reckon him in the halves. Land hughes and an outside back. Whether that is Mansour or Roberts. If roberts Kepaoa on the wing. If Mansour Talau in centre mansour on the wing.

1. Hughes
2. Nofa
3. Leilua
4. Roberts/Talau
5. Kepaoa/Mansour
6. Doueihi
7. Brooks

Great, I have always thought we should try Brooks at 9, he is quick, can tackle and can pass under pressure.

Don't need a 9 - we have the mighty Liddle.

I would take Hughes in a heart beat. AD can learn how to tackle and be 13. Brooks can move to 6 and get angry. Like he is playing against Gagai every game.

Agreed. moving Brooks to 6 and having Hughes at 7 would be good for Luke. We saw this year how a change in dynamic worked well for Ash Taylor at the titans. I believe this would be the same for Brooks.

I'm not a hater by any means I just think he is stronger as a runner, than he is running the team

I am a big fan of Hughes but agree like others that he would struggle outside the Storm system. I don't think he would add anything to WT for the money he is after.

This bloke would be another Adam Blair, Fullback maybe but he is not the half we need. Remember he played behind the best hooker in the game one of the best 5/8s and had a great pack around him. Why we have to be linked with every player Off contract I can’t understand.

I just get the feeling Brooks is often not totally in the game. He certainly has the skills. Playing with a 7 like Hughes could produce some coordinated rivalry?

Absolutely. Also I think Brooks to 5/8 makes so much sense. His strengths are a fast running game, good passing and better defense. His weaknesses are team management, positioning.

Get Hugues or heck even Mitchel Pearce for 1 year at NR7 and throw Brooks at 6.

Sounds like an unpopular opinion - I don't rate Jahrome Hughes. Major Milford vibes.

Wouldn't throw the money being suggested that's for sure, and that's why the Storm wouldn't keep him at that money too.

Solid in an incredible system, but a Milford in any other team.

Im with you. He has been to a few clubs before the Storms and could never crack a spot, all of a sudden under Bellamy he looks a world beater. IMO he is a player who will come back to earth away from the Storm system.

Hughes had a game with Titans as a teenager, but it was the game he played with cowboys at 21 in which he scored a try that caught the eye of Bellamy.
There has always been a risk of players dropping in intensity when joining Tigers because we don’t treat our players as well as other clubs do. That shouldn’t get in the way of recruiting good players.

Yeh I think the pressure gets to him, in a similar way it would hamper ash Taylor (who's a lot better since Holbrook came in and Fogerty became the dominant half). Some guys thrive on it and others don't.

I woulldve liked to have seen more games with Benji at 7 and Brooks at 6 this year but they only did 2 (I think?) before switching (prob the most frustrating thing this year, the constant positional switches)

I’d like to think those positional changes had purpose. Testing combinations? Providing opportunities for players to show variations in skill sets? Moving players out of their comfort zone? Team building? Attitude assessment/ analysis? Testing opposition to authority?
All designed to find strengths and weaknesses in the team. And there were plenty of weaknesses. I hope the team is settled over preseason.

I don’t know that Pearce would produce the same coordinated rivalry as Hughes? I’m talking dueling banjos.

We need to try something.

Brooks and Douehi doesnt fill me with much confidence.

I reckon this combination could work. They will need a lot of work but I think they are going to give it a shot. I'm more worried about fullback. Maybe Hughes could slot in there.

I reckon this year was a free pass. Next year needs to see the start of the rise
