OFFICIAL Jake Averillo #?

Meh..
a little underwhelming a better version of toa and has a bit of a Moses mmbye feel about the signing

The other centre in tiny may is a star centre
Surprised by this sentiment.

I think Averillo has all the talent in the world. Gives us the key thing our back line is lacking which is genuine speed and a constant try scoring threat.

Only 25, great try scoring record. Has already had a handful of games in which he was the dominate player.

I think Benji is the perfect coach for him and I cannot wait to see him in the right edge in Tigers colours. May and Averillo might actually be the best centre pairing the Wests Tigers have ever had imo.

Great post..

Riccio saying here that the money is $550-$600k a year which is a bit less than what was reported originally … Vossy pushing the five eighth angle though …

Tom. I must ask. Has this news lowered your anxiety around signings?

But also, if there are signings, we are the last to know....once reported by the club?

I don’t get your second point …this has been rumoured for about a month …

IN relation to your first question … we need more than one mate…

Positive signing in a position that has been problematic for us at right centre. He can also play wing and fullback.

Looks like Benji and co have done their homework re solving our positional weak links in the team. Think KPP and Bunty last year. We all know the cap is tight but if we can pick up another quality second rower in Shaun Blore then we have addressed most of our glaring weaknesses. We still need to have solid back up for Api. I know we have Josese Lanyon and young Haywood coming through. It would be nice to have some extra insurance for Api but the cap may not stretch that far.

Anyway, at least players seem happy to hop on the bus now. It was looking pretty grim there not so long ago.

Good signing. Good attacking threat, decent experience and coming into his prime years.

Plus it’s in a position that we’re weak in and is an upgrade on To’a. Added bonus of being able to play fullback and in the halves (if needed).

Love this signing... Wanted him years ago before Dolphins got him
Totally agree and could not believe Dogs let him go and would have loved to to get hold of him at that time.

Can't believe people are not aware of his speed and some believe he's a reserve grade standard player.

All I can say is that some people just must not watch games or are completely oblivious to what goes on around the place.

Don't know what we are paying him but great signing regardless of the price when it is a position we desperately need to cover and have been lacking in for years.

His current contract with the Dolphins is for $400k.
NRL360 recon we paying him $700, theyve got rocks
in their heads if they think that.
Thats almost double what he is getting now.
Riccio said he "THINKS" its close to $500k-$550k p/y.
Thats not too bad , at that price ,with the salary cap increase coming soon
its a pretty good deal.
I remember when Turuva signed. The Dragons offered him $600k , but he opted to
come to us for less ($450k) to play along side his cousin Api.
Surely he wouldve got a pay rise when he recently re-signed bringing him up to
around the $500k - $550k p/yr.
The good thing about both of them is they can play other positions aswell if needed.
