Needs the right coaching. Under a tough trainer that has good man management he'd go well.

I think a better approach with him might be to avoid an authoritarian, tough training coach. He'd be a fair chance of just burning out under that sort of coach. He only needs decent fitness to get by with his natural size and talent. Good man management would be an absolute must though.

Agree. he's not your average footballer. give the right person to guide him, he could be devastating on an edge.

I have always liked the guy. I can't remember him making terrible mistakes like our halves. He never landed flat on his backside when attempting a tackle like Brooks has a few times.

To bigger risk for the money he would be after. He would be asking for $250k plus. I reckon if the club is going to after a center which we should be, we should be going hard to sign a bloke like Tautau Moga.

Yes he has had injury problems with his knees. But he has played half this year and still looks the goods. He is exactly what we need fast, strong (194cm 104kgs) great defensively and in attack. Plus you could get him for reasonable money prob about 150k a year. Give him a 2 year deal, fairly risk free really. The upside to this bloke is untapped.

One plus for the Tigers, his manager is the honourable Sammie!!!!

Not a big fan, he would make Rankin look like Usain Bolt. If he did come back not in the backs that is for sure.

I'd offer him a nsw cup contract. earn his spot via nsw cup, and then maybe he'll feature in nrl if he's good enough. If he's not then there's nothing lost.

He's a nobody now. Not worth a cent. Maybe the Knight would be desperate enough to offer him a 3 figure salary. An injury prone, lazy, unfit and often distracted player won't be high on too many wishlists.

I'd take take him in a second and put a huge focus on fitness. Get him the fittest he has been in his life and he would be unstoppable.

Look what Ricky did with BJ Leileua. When he bought him from Newcastle he said all he had to do was fix his fitness and look at him now.

agree, if you got him fit. Idris could be the rampaging player we need.
worth taking a risk with, in my opinion.

some players are self reliant with training and focus like Matt Ballin
others really need a good mentor/coach to bring the best out of them. as mentioned by Marzie, Ricky has done a great job with BJ Leileua.
I was one of those that didn't like Ricky's coaching style and was preying he didn't come here (when Parra signed him). Now i'm loving the way he has turned things around at Canberra. It wasn't so long ago that no-one wanted to go there. He has kept plugging away and built a great side down there.
Josh Papalii was a great signing for them about four years ago. As well as BJ this year. The players Ricky picked up from the UK have done a great job for them as well.

Hope Taylor has a big turn around as a coach and gets some power players in the 2nd row and Centre like Ricky has with Papalii and BJ.

If the club was to look at him they would need to sign him today , get him in and give him a program for fitness for the next 6'weeks , then re access him just before the boys come back for training prior to xmas , he would need plenty of time to get up to speed , then mix in with the others

I would be concerned about his ability to motivate himself. Our team needs more self motivated players not another that has to be pushed.

Yes for the right price.
Can hold his own in defense, damaging in attack. Good fend & offload, would be our most aggressive 'forward' in the back line. We lack size and power across the field, Idris is a ideal fit to give us genuine aggression & go forward. Would also be handy as a target in those 5th tackle plays.

Just wondering, all the clubs and fans considering signing him…
What position is he going to play?

I saw him on Sterlo and he looks HUGE.
I don't think he's a centre anymore.
