Almost certain Gavet was only signed for 2 years and he's been here that long. There would be no release…

Sheens signed him for a year in 2012\. Then potter extended it to two more years last year.

We didn't get much first grade game time from him over the three years he was with us. Even when selected for two State Cup games he failed to turn up.

We still have a few big guys left: Woods (109 kg), Seumanufagai (114 kg) Lodge (110 kg), Taupau (110 kg), Graham (102 kg), Grant (98 kg ?), Galloway (112 kg), Brown (107 kg) etc.
Hopefully these guys have better work ethic/attitude than Gavet (108 kg) :wink:

Dallas Graham and Santi certainly have the right work ethic. I am tipping each to make first grade this year.

Good move. A very troubled soul and I think the comparison someone else made with Dane Laurie is not too far off the mark. All show and no substance was how I rated him. But, he's not alone there. Let's hope others of the same ilk are moved on.

Good move at least the club will not have to put the games back to fit into his lifestyle … That is if he could be bothered to roll up .As JT stated a professional attitude will be expected next season unfortunately Gavet and professional behaviour do not really mix!

Chief amongst my many curiosities about next year is who will fill the Fulton tackle machine role. My money is on Santi at the mo.

of the same opinion he was only a fringe 1st grader and played very few games, but if we keep letting players leave and lets face it there's not much out there to sign we are going to be behind the eight ball should we get injuries again. I really hope JT has 3-5 players up his u know what and he will unleash them shortly or we are going in with a very thin squad.

At the same time JTs approach is to be professional… He is building a strong culture by making moves like this.

It's also not like we are letting a developed first grader go

Ava, lodge and brown are much better prospects imo

He was a step up from Laurie, but to be honest I think I liked Laurie more! We got little value out go him due to injury and poor discipline so I am hoping we have someone more worthy in mind to fill his spot.

Well Taylor is really stamping his authority on things. I'm all for it if it means a more professional outfit. I'm not sure a Bennett-coached Brisbane is his natural home but either he'll get his crap together or he'll be moved on again.

Pretty disappointed with this. He obviously has a few off field issues, problems with training and his professionalism. But it really is a shame to let go of one of our best weapons off the bench considering big powerful forwards are an asset to any team in the modern game and he certainly had a ton of potential.

But potential can only take you so far if you can't apply yourself 100% with every facet of the game.

Another young bloke will get the chance now which is exciting. It's good to see so far that Taylor isn't worried about making some tough calls.
