James Graham

Graham met with our CEO whilst he was down here during the 4 nations at the end of 2010 as well as being linked with the Tigers Earlier on during the Season.

As with the Lote Signing and the Ellis signing before that, The Deal was done with the Tigers wall before being made public.

Note in particular the Ellis deal was confirmed and announced almost a year before he arrived in Oz…

Dogs are great at gezumping Though..

We won't get Graham.

The Dogs are actively chasing Graham and have the cash to back it after losing out on upgrading Idris and Ryan chasing his nest egg in the ESL.

We have made no secret we're after Blair and given the dollars that were bandied about in a someone's post yesterday it seems like we're fixated on him and giving Graham the look over.

Thx CB, You are very Learned.

As you know the Mutts offered big $$$ to a Parra Fwd earlier in the year so the do seem to have room in their cap.

I have no problem losing out with Graham as long as Fifita and Woods are kept in our colours.

Yeah was in todays paper the telegraph that James Graham is going to the dogs as well, dont know who they are going to get rid off though

Well Jamal will leave some cash

Its not the money Jamal was on, its the money the Dogs had at their disposal to upgrade his contract, of which there was a sizable amount.

James Graham is a gun forward in the Super League and his name brings a lot of hype to media headlines over there. Sam Burgess was a gun forward in the Super League and he came here with a whole lot of hype looking for top dollar. Now Sam Burgess has spent an entire season in the NRL, between this year and last year he really hasn't set the world on fire. The the thing is, the NRL is a tougher competition than the Super League. More often than not, when gun players come from the Super League they're brought back into the pack where as players that leave here to play in the Super League look like superstars. With the exception of Gareth Ellis who's form has been exceptional since coming to the NRL, I wouldn't count on James Graham being a superstar here that the media hype him up to be because as Burgess has proven, the competition in the NRL brings the Super League hyped up players back to the pack

We must be watching different games.
Burgess can win games by himself against any opposition.
Don't judge him without factoring in the guys he is playing with.

I'd have to side with Chris. Burgess is not a bad player but his performances are well below the hype he generated before he went. And he's playing in a fairly big name pack - Taylor, Asotasi, Luke, Crocker etc
Put it this way - out of him and Ellis we got the better deal by a long way!

I think Burgess is a good player - but maybe the social scene in Sydney has inflated his ego and it reflecting on the field !

…i think from what we've seen of him on the field of late that the social scene is all that matters for him. becoming the dwight yorke of the nrl.

http://www.nrl.com/nrls-bulldogs-sign-england-star-graham/tabid/10874/newsid/62457/default.aspx

I hate being beaten, even if its for the signature of a player…

They must be over,
Players on big salaries,

Barba, Morris, , Hodkinson, Keating, Ennis, Pritchard, Ryan, Stagg, Eastwood, Tolman, Roberts(off contract i think)

Bulldogs dont even have anybody good off contract. Except Andrew Ryan who says he intends to stay. So im sus about their cap also
