Yeah but he look at who his competition was Red… Weren't too many performers in that side last year.

But you are right, they both went on good coin, Hodkinson is playing for $280K a year and I heard Keating went on something similar.

I concede on Keating's company CB - however I will say that Parra improved markedly when Anderson bit the bullet & "rested" Mortimer - thus allowing Keating to play 5/8th and provide some spark!

But his older brother is a busted!

I still can't fathom their reasoning on letting him go to be honest, he was by and far the best option in the halves, and it's not like they don't have the cash to keep him, they've got a large wad of cash still available this year.

Anyway, back on topic, **I'd love to have Graham on, but not at the expense of the squad we have been building for the last three to five years. If we can somehow manage to sign him without losing any players I'm all for it…**

2041 your being abit harsh there mate…
... as redemption said keating was 1 of parra's best players in 2010...
and i would love to have trent hodkinson at our club, i love how he plays and his style of footy...

Fair enough I was being flippant to some extent. I don't see either of them as difference makers, though. If the dogs aren't cheating they'll be overpaying them IMO.

Not sure if it has been noted, But this post indicates the Dogs are close to signing Graham… Makes sense with Tandy gone??

One can only hope… But Imagine Woodsy in 3 years... HELL!!! Imagine him at 25!!!

The Dogs bought 70 players this year. How in the hell could they afford him?

They also don't have any eight year players with cap concessions, except Andrew Ryan, I believe.

We don't need him. Look how good our forward pack is going with all our injuries!… 2 are 20 year olds and we have another 19 year old superstar on the sidelines.

Goal kicking winger. That's what we need.

I honestly think with all the talent coming through in forwards plus established players we already have we do not need either Graham or Blair . Depending on Sheens plan for Moltzen and fullback lets chase a better fullback preferably who can goalkick . He may not even need to goalkick if all the talk about our new half back is correct .Think Tagive will fill wingers role in future

Yeah i read that as well about James Graham going to the dogs, who else are they going to get, any player on the market appears to be going to the dogs

I'd show a little faith in out up and coming forwards. Resign the likes of Fifita, Murdoch, WOODS!!! and perhaps the Schirnacks. I think that within that lot we dont need Blair or Graham.

We currently have Farah, Marshall, Heighington and Gibbs as eight year players eligible for a salary cap discount, next year Payten adds to that. I dare say not many other teams would be able to say the same, most certainly not the Bulldogs.

My guess is we can lock in Fafita AND Woods for the next three years and still have significant change left over for what Graham will go for in what is now clearly an auction.
Grahams very good, but both those above have at least similiar potential at same age,& totally seperately,a key learning re injuries to all teams this year is you dont want a huge chunk of yr salary cap tied in to just a few individuals if you have an option to avoid it(Benji ,who like all key playmakers,is of course excepted)
Our young blokes are much better investments than Graham

Lock up guys like Matty Groat, Dave Nofoaluma, Mitchell Moses, James Tedesco … the near future is looking quite expensive - lets plan for it
