James Tedesco playing with broken leg!

whether it's a dibilitating injury or not, there's a few bloke's on our team who could take a page out of james book. The kid hasn't been a world beater this year, but he's putting his body on the line, that's all we fan's are looking for, heart and pride in our jersey. Good on you James im just sorry in our club it seem's sometimes the younger player's have to lead the more experienced players.

Pretty hard to please some people. First season back from an ACL, in fact first season in first grade and carrying an injury which at the least must be an inconvenience and knockers still abound. Has been remarkably safe under the high ball, great defence and just starting to find his way in attack. I am more than satisfied with the way he is going.

This x 10000.

Now that's the kind of player you want that puts on the WT jersey! True heart! Would be the easy option to sit the year out especially getting smashed each weak. This is the kind of culture we need!

i have seen a few players/people who love to get hit and then love getting back up from a setback. james seems to be one of those people. doesnt like getting hit, but loves that feeling of getting back up so doesnt care about getting hit.

Tedesco eager to play despite leg fracture

For James Tedesco, the pain of playing with a leg fracture is more bearable than not playing at all.

The young Wests Tigers fullback has been battling to overcome a crack in his fibula suffered against North Queensland nearly three months ago.

But, having missed all but the opening 30 minutes of his debut NRL season in 2012 due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament on the same left leg, the 20-year-old is determined not to give in.

"If I do get a knock on it, it's pretty painful during a game," he told AAP on Friday.

"It does kill for about five minutes or so, then you run it off and it goes away.

"It's just frustrating because I want to play.

"Especially from last year, having only played in that one game, it is pretty important that I keep playing.

"Even though I'm not having the best season, it's important for me to get games under my belt for the experience."

Ironically, it was injuries to senior teammates Benji Marshall and Braith Anasta that opened the door for the talented youngster.

Tedesco inherited the No.1 jersey from Tim Moltzen, who was shifted to the halves in the absence of Marshall and Anasta before a knee reconstruction cut his season short.

The Tigers custodian insists his decision to keep playing would not have any long-term consequences, with his eye still firmly set on representing Italy at this year's World Cup.

"It's not an injury that can get worse, that's what they've said to me.

"It's mainly just playing through a bit of pain and that's what you've got to do sometimes for the team.

"That's part of first-grade - copping injuries and playing with them.

"It's not just me, it's half the team are playing with some sort of problem.

"Sometimes it plays on your mind a bit, I'm a bit tentative to step off my left foot.

"It's all a bit harder to play through but it's just about getting that confidence of playing with it."

Two things in this article are clear:

1\. Tedesco is no wimp
2\. His attitude and courage cannot be doubted

What a great young fella he is, not afraid to admit that he isn't having the best season but wants to keep fighting for the rest of the season regardless of injury. Hope his fighting spirit flows over into the new generation of Tigers and it washes away the lazy, uncaring, spoilt attitude that we still have lingering around from the last few seasons.
Good luck next season Teddy and I sincerely hope you fulfill your undoubted potential :sign:
