Will all come down to TPA's in the end for all 4 players , if we spend too much cap dollars to sign them we will have a weakened roster in other areas and have the scenario we currently have where we have weaknesses in key positions

I think you will find they are going to scrap TPA's…

It makes sense they would because it defeats the point of the salary cap. But wouldn't this move weaken the NRL product, since the best players will chase the $$$ in other sporting codes?

Not if it coincides with a marked increase in the salary cap. I don't really see how they can just suddenly scrap it though when there are contractual arrangements already in place.

BREAKING NEWS!!
The Sydney Roosters are on the verge of offering Wests Tigers player James Tedesco a multi million dollar deal from season 2018 and beyond.

Wests Tigers, Souths, Roosters, Canterbury and Sharks can and probably will all offer him a multi million dollar deal.
However, Tedesco has shown it's not about the money.
Missing out on semi finals and a chance to win a premiership because you want to be with your mates can only take you so far.

They can't scrap it, it's a restriction of trade.

If they get rid of the salary cap they will have 22 players trialling at NFL , a heap more at Union and another bunch at AFL

Salary cap is here to stay , might change , but won't be removed

I think they were just talking about the tpas happy…. salary cap - definitely cant go scrapping that!

The salary cap could be challenged at anytime and be in danger of being defeated just like the removal of TPA's would probably see a court challenge. I would love to see the TPa's scapped or at least highly regulated so we have a level playing field but doubt it will happen. Of course if by some miracle all teams did play on the same level ground there would always teams willing to go beyond the rules by what ever means to get a advantage.

Do not know what the answer is but the NRL is all about winning and people will do anything to win…sadly its human nature

I feel when it comes to the crunch it will be more about his chances of being in a competitive team with chances of winning the premiership than anything else.Money is important but having a strong team with a good future will play a large part.Lets hope we have a good start to the season to strengthen his resolve to be here.

We do have the wealthiest backer in rugby league on our TPAs… if Harry gets involved, we should be able to compete with any team for offers.

If that's true then we've benefited very little over the years.

You do realise gnr that while he was a sponsor of the club he could not do any external TPAs.Now he can.

If you are to believe TigerTorch, Uncle Harry has been providing TPAs for a few seasons now, since Meriton came off the jerseys. TT said they currently go to the obvious people - Tedesco, Moses, Brooks, Woods.

Not even 2017….........we're going to have months of this, him and Moses

I have a gut feeling Tedesco will make his mind up early, like wise Woods, but the other two could drag on till mid season 2018

I agree. All the talk from Tedesco has been about sticking together, being like Melbourne and taking pay cuts to e sure success. Woods bleeds orange and black. Howetcef fhe other 2 have always been about leaving it "to my manager" which means get me the best deal possible. If they have any loyalty, especially Moses, he owes us at least one more deal.
