Of course Benji and the club was aware...being late april galvin.last year thing is just a coincidence we have a.long spell between games.

The timing is perfect in regards to his career for one massive final.payday if thats what hes looking for.... you never know.he may be thinking of becoming an agent post career and this is research.tho i think thats long odds...he will do media more than likely already has a deal with fox i think

Hes well respected among his.peers and many of them will be getting his thoughts on the whole set up there in PNG...or whats there so far.
 
If Laui decides to leave for the dollars in 28 who can really blame him or his Family. As a player he is not worth $1.2mil but as a respected player on and off the field he can't be faulted, he does so much community work for the Tigers and this will follow him to the Chiefs.

I know you don’t like Turuva but I think he would be next …classy finisher that makes the meters …doesn’t make a lot of mistakes and can play 1 and 3 if required to fill in

They need a 9 and Bula’s replacement if he moves on

Agree. I'd think Benji won't do it publicly, but fight it internally. Just based on his own character and potential defamation (we know they love to sue). He's quite used to the idiocy from the board during his playing days.

I think we'd all love more public transparency/accountability on this stuff though

You can’t be successfully sued for defamation if you are telling the truth..

std stuff , he is having a look and if he told the club prior so be it , it’s no big deal , if he decides to go in 28 fine we will have heaps of cash and find a new player , same for bulla , I would secure the mays and big Sam and Sione , extend jock , lock in Macca , we have afew in the back ground comin* along who are couple years of so just good timing , do I think Luai will go , no , to much for him hear and his wage plus other things he has going he is fine for $$$ , family , friends , home , he stays

I still don't know who at the club is handling contract negotiations - is it SM? Is that in line with his expertise because it is critical for this clubs improvement that we retain the players Benji wants or there is a whole lot of clubs with money who will pick them off
 
Had a text message exchange with my Manly supporting mate earlier …it’s like he doesn’t believe me that I’m not devastated about the prospects of JL moving on in 2028.. he obviously isn’t watching our games too closely and seeing who is doing the main work in getting the results 😑

Assume SM does the negotiating part …he is responsible for the salary cap management

One thing I am absolutely Shaw about is that Benji knows he's there and has Benji's blessing to be there he would not have gone without Benji's ok that means 1 of two things he's on holiday to visit family or he's had a chat with Benji about setting up his family

If I was Luai it would be a 4 year contract and if I retire early because of injuries I get medical retirement tax free


Now medical retirement could be mental health issues if it's stressful up in PNG

It could be best for both parties Luai here in 27 before PNG

Most tigers fans I’ve seen on social media with a brain are like “sweet . You’ve been amazing for this club . Go get your bag sir! “ … fans spewing ? Haha please! We are the most resilient fanbase in Australia . This is one of the few marquees we will lose that will leave with our blessing .

For me it’s not even that. Our Flegg team is killing it for the first time in ages. The best players in the KOE team are all <20 years old , although they’re not getting the results they’ve played most of the top teams so far . I can still see them making the 8.
And from why I can tell the messaging out of the joint for the first time in ages generally is total buy in . From 18 year olds to 31 year olds . There’s a culture brewing and Romey can hang his hat on the fact he was a big driving force around changing it . You can see the turn around . And it’s culturally . You can feel it .
Do I think there will be small leadership vacuum when he leaves and maybe a drop in aura/ gravitas … yep probably . But theres genuinely guys like the Fainu Boys who are building thier own reputations . Samuela honestly is along with Preston the best backrowers in nsw this year But only Preston is being mentioned right now . He gets a blues jersey , and I’m confident it’ll be a long time before someone takes it from him .

Fair point. Kinda sounds like a standard PR mgr role though. Not sure having your CEO skillset aligned on managing the message is smarter than the leader having the actual skills to build a football club in such a complex environment
