OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

He’s been ordinary since he’s arrived, it’s hard to accept.

Yeah, he’s been great off the field but probably played only 5 or so good games for us.

Can’t give up on him though, he’s on 1.2m. Who knows, he might come good or more importantly help others come good

Before signing Luai I always thought he was the one Penrith player they would miss the least.

It's not hard to be a running 5/8 when you have a stacked team around you.

Douhie would be a Dally M winner in the Penrith system.
Ivan knew what he was worth to his team when it was reported he would only give $600k or $700k for him to stay.

Whatever you may think of Ivan, he ain't no dope.

Anyway why worry about it, we've all got work tomorrow.

I actually think most players Chiefs wil attract are mature guys with big reputations like Luai, who have set themseves up in multi million homes in Syd or Melb....whose families will stay put for the kids educaion, plus avoid capital gains tax on the family home which is a big issue
Dad will see family every few weeks on away games..and byes..and during summer

You are probably right there..I doubt Laui will bring his whole family to PNG to live.....I wonder if PNG Chiefs include a years free subscription to Penthouse.....

Possibly, yes….they could end up FIFO workers.
Not great for Poly’s whose families are often their communities.

The signing of Luai was great at the time. The timing of PNG contract is pretty fortunate as well. He still has more work to do here on and off the field. I'd like to see him mentor Latu over the next 18 months. It would be good to see Latu 7. Luai 6 before AD is back.
I agree, but not starting like this.

To get:
Api,
Latu,
Luai
and Bula at 1 is a very fast spine.

NO way should this be our starting spine though. No way at all. But swap in Latu when people have tired legs this would do a lot of damage.

Luai can really motivate a defensive line when he wants too.

First thing i thought of when I heard about the compound is a torrid affair will happen
Nothing exciting happens in a compound.

Although I honestly expect that women may be flown to PNG to entertain, along with some locals.

Heck, if the team tours the Trobian islands anything could happen.
