it wouldn’t surprise me if Penrith waived the 10 day reply period. all the comments from O’Neill and Alexander indicate that if leaving Penrith is what Jarome wants, they won’t stand in his way.

I would expect this week Luai and his agent will go to Penrith with our offer and try and squeeze more dollars and years out of them before making a final decision.

Penrith will likely be able to give him an extra year on top of the 2 years offered, but I doubt they even move the salary up a cent.

My tip he gets offered 3 years x 850 at a winning club , may be option year 4 in his fav

Were looking at Luai because, hey he is a star talent, Top shelf 5/8... But to sign him we basically have to offload Klemmer/Bateman/whatever front rower we don't want for the next 10 minutes....

I have a feeling you’re right. The whole Luai thing has just been odd since Ivan questioned his ability. I doubt he stays at Penrith anyway.

Olam seems out of favour so very possible.

AFB may be the best prop in the game and we all know how that usually ends for us.

Yeah I think Luai is gone from Penrith too, I'm still not confident that we are they only potential destination for him though.
I think the AFB is possible but we will have to go okay this season, he's not coming to cellar dweller, will want to join a fringe 8 side.

That’s the dream scenario. A bit like Souths when they landed Asotasi after years of missing out on the big fish and quickly signed several others on the back of it.

Though the fact there hasn’t been even a snippet of chatter around Penrith increasing their offer leans heavily in our favour.

A great half and forward is what Dogs need too. They lack a good halfback and prop. If Bulldogs sign Luai, I could see AFB tempted to go there too (unlimited spending power from Gus of course)

Yeah I reckon our odds of signing AFB shorten big time if we jag Luai, and Olam would also add a little too. He’d have Fulton in his ear as well. This is why I think we should be all in for Luai, players will want to play with him, and he’s seems really competitive, so I can’t se him being a dud. Make him an offer he can’t refuse or just ask him what he wants and give it to him. The cap goes up, Brooks was on a mil, and Luai is worth 500k more than Brooks, so anything under 1.5m is a bargain. Go get him Benji.
