Can’t for the life of me understand why anyone would boo him. Left the premiers for the wooden spooners (rare in NRL these days) on a now 3 year deal and all signs point to it being a hugely successful turnaround.

Also leaving at age 31 and giving some young halves an opportunity.

Boo our club powerbrokers if they can’t use his money to keep the rest of the gang together.

I would be so disappointed if people booed him. It's a bad look on the club. Players should be able to leave amicably and retain some level of respect. Players talk amongst each other, and that kind of behaviour puts them off wanting to go to certain clubs.

I would never boo him. I've always liked him - still do.
Just don't like the way the NRL allows for mid year deals/negotiatons - for this very reason.

Only losers would boo him....but we have some real bottom feeders among our fan base so I wouldnt be surprised if when it happens at our next home game

I doubt it. The common vibe on social media is that Tigers fans are fine with it. There’s the odd meltdown but that’s it. At games, you might get one or two neck beards yell out, but it won’t the entire fan base.

We all agree the NRL have created a beast (PNG) for simple people like myself, so how long is this tax free ???

The club had the clauses to get him over here we needed a circuit breaker, he has done a good job so far.

What about thier families ?
“You’re just living it up back in oz whilst im stuck in this prison” will get uttered at least 1000 times in the next 10 years.
It has to be your main residence for you to get get tax free by the way. 6 months in oz won’t cut it .

He will get two and it will be let's have fun but it's no place for someone without a wife and kids

Could you imagine a wife of girlfriend no kids it would kill you

The narrative on this guy will certainly change. His dislike will grow.
You only have to read the way people death ride Galvin on here to witness an example. Pretty much all of them used to defend him as well.
For mine Luai only came here for the money. Yes he may have inspired attitude change off field as he has an infectious personality….but has done very little onfield to help out. Him chasing the money over seas is well within character.

Whilst I love the premise of expanding the game with a key Pacific neighbour, I think the Chiefs expansion team has been formed for all the wrong reasons and the NRL has ended up as a pawn in a geopolitical chess game.

Our focus should’ve been on our own shores - starting with the Perth Bears. Then bring in a second NZ team in 2028 and finally a PNG team in 2030. The NRL funding, on top of the 700m Australia already provides PNG each year should’ve gone into further bolstering their infrastructure, education, law and governance.

Port Moresby is ranked the 4th most dangerous city in the world for everyday crime, so living in a compound is a recipe for a pretty dystopian experience, especially for players with kids.

As I just explained, Benji has full control of our recruitment and retention. He uses Shannon Gallant to assist him and our CEO has the rubbber stamp it all, but Benji is in control and can make any player and offer at any time, therefore the buck does not stop with our CEO.
I’d say we are highly likely in the process of making Terrell a very good offer to remain with us, but if he’s happy to live in PNG and make a little bit more money, we cannot compete with that.

I would find it very hard to believe that our interim CEO Shaun has the rubber stamp, he's only interim, has no autonomy and will be going to the board to get permission every time he wants to fart.

Who the hell is our board anyway?

Of course it’s an issue …

This could take another six months or more to resolve … it takes both parties to agree the deal and the administration still needs to act as carefully as they can…

Just because the player hasn’t signed …doesn’t mean the admin haven’t done anything …

It will be interesting to see how many, if any players head to PNG on an all expenses paid trip during our bye round mid to late May.

Would the club have to give players permission for players to go and have a look to satisfy their curiosity, would it be better to allow them to go and have a look rather than stop it.

I can see pros and cons on both sides of that argument how appropriate would it be being named - Buy round. 🤣
