OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

Looks like he has checked out.... He is not solely to blame but halfway through the season and he has been beyond ordinary.....
Been ordinary since he got here
- he’s had maybe 2-3 games where he was dominant (that’s being generous)

Apparently we’re not paying him to win games for us.. just needs to talk to the media well, back the coach and call everyone bra.

I have been very vocal about how important i believe it is to get rid this guy asap. Let me make it very clear, I dont blame Luai for today at all. We handed the game to the best team of the last decade with incredibly bad mistakes by Api, Murray and Turuva. Along with the standard Grant Atkins 6 again in our first set to give Penrith the keg uo they needed. We actually defended fantastic that initial period.

In my opinion, its is unmanageable to have your captain actively employed to recruit for another club. Laui claims he is a man of honour, but allowing this to happen shows no honour at all. If he had any integrity he would look for a 12 month gig in Suoer League or over with the Bears to help them for a year. What he is doing is way worse than what Galvin did and I cant support this guy at all playing for us.

Poor today. The brief sunlight of last week fades when things get tough. He’ll probably put in against the Titans if he gets things roll our way. I appreciate the good things he’s done here in terms of culture and making this is an acceptable destination but his value for money is terrible.

And announcing his move mid season which I’m sure has confused some younger players.
I think he’s just past it and doesn’t have that spark left in him.
But he’ll continue to be picked until
he’s either hurt or had enough, I think what we should be doing is realising the impact AD has on this team and willing him back asap.

Blaming individuals for that performance is pointless the team was completely outclassed and the stats will show just how dominant Penrith were. No individual was going to make a difference picking out one to drop when there is no depth to effectively replace with would be stupid. They all have to own there part in it and move on to next week.

Maybe but his best game was post that. I think he’s a bit of a flat track bully. He looks terrific when those around him are going well but doesn’t have that ability to lift poor sides. There are players who would take today as a personal challenge and lift and say “we might lose but we’re going down swinging.” Jerome just misses tackles and hands the ball off.

He’s won 4 premierships. He’s all about the money now. Which, if you win 4 comps in a row, why wouldn’t you be? All the Batman BS was always just for show. He’s a not a footballer anymore, he’s a businessman. He’s all about setting himself up for life after footy. Which, with his personality, he’ll find a media gig somewhere in about 10 seconds flat. He’s set for life.

You’re right but there’s a legitimate question about JL being consistently poor. Being circa 35% possession is a sign of general weakness though.

He is never going to deliver his monetary value - especially with those stats - realistically no player could. He is the biggest target but I don't see him as the problem he is just not the answer. We were completely out muscled all over the park. The stats tell the full story in this game.

It's really annoying when you're right G lol, probably would have gone better without him today.

I went back and looked at the 4th tackle 6 again call on the first set. Plain and simple it wasn’t an infringement. The boys made a tackle. They got up quickly. Yeo played the ball quickly. Just a made up call by Atkins because he felt like it.

Its his job,as the marqee plyer ,to set the standard
If he lacks intensity, the young blokes think..well ok.
..and Geyer shld never play 1st grade again
Makasini shld be held back until next season
Theres many more tbh

Yep.....thats what Atkins does. He gives the leg up early to blow us away then ref's fair once the game is gone after 20 minutes. The 2nd 6 again was fair, but that first one that gave Penrith all that early field position was blatant bias.

It happens almost every week though..is someone analysing why this occurs regardless of who is referreeing and got a plan to fix it..
Even if the plan is sharing it with nrl
Its just killing us

..and btw..Bears are desperate for a marquee..id offer Luai for $800k next year and take a $400k hit...and buy a real marquee player
We need as many as we can get
The club’s never going to do that. Even if we don’t win a game for the rest of the year. He’ll be here next year.
